CIRCLING THE WAGONS....

--When the little ones come every spring the mommies have a habit of circling the wagons and protecting the little whack a doodles. Even the mommies who have made whack a doodle their middle name seem to be able to climb above their little defect in behavior for the sake of their babies. When it’s time to eat the mommies watch with a forceful eye making sure none of the bigger cats take a swat at the little ones. Or even a slight growl or a hiss and the circling mommies chase the bigger cats right away from the area and they have to wait until all of the kittens our done and leave the area to play. Then they watch them play keeping a watchful eye on them. It’s really a sight to see.
--Gone are the personalities of one and they take on a communal force to be reckoned with. Just ask anybody who tries to misbehave during those days. They are quickly reminded to mind their P's and Q's with such force that it no longer becomes a problem.
--It's nice to see the cats band together for something besides their next meal and it's even encouraging to watch. Reaffirming my faith that it is possible to get along even though they might not see eye to eye at times.
--Now if we could take a lesson from them it might be useful. And may be even profitable for us all. It sure makes you wonder....
