The old man in the painting…

--We used to have a painting hanging in our living room of a white cottage in  garden. It was pretty and everyone loved it.
--One night on the way back from the bathroom I noticed for the first time there was an old man starring out of the window in the front door. Not thinking any thing of it at the time I went back to bed.
--The next day while vacuuming I happen to glance at the painting and you guessed it there was no old man.
-I mention it to my wife, and she just smiled and said she’s never seen an old man in the painting. While I let it go. And caulked it up to being half asleep and never thought any more about it until the next night on the way back from the bathroom.
--The old man was there again, only this time he was waving trying to get my attention. While I starred at the painting for awhile and then went back to bed.
--And yes the next day there was no old man in the painting.
--Well this went on for about a week, and then it stopped finally. I figured the old man had delivered his message and gone about his way.
--Awhile after that I was informed my grandfather has passed away. When I informed the person telling me that I had already gotten the news they seemed a little perplexed but never bothered to ask and I didn’t bother to explain….
