--It was a morning like any other or so I thought at the time.
--The schedule was quite full. First day of school, doctors appointment later in the day ,and my wife had to be at work by 7am. Since we only had one car on the road I was going to drive her to work. And because of the timing I was going to take the babies with us so the older boys could catch the bus. But just before we were ready to leave my wife looks at me and says" why don't we leave the babies home you'll be back in plenty of time for the boy's to catch the bus."
--Well I wasn't really looking forward to trying to get the babies in there car seat's anyways so I agreed.
--The trip to work was about 4 maybe 5 miles away and we were there in just about no time. I turned on my left hand blinker on and started to turn into the driveway when there was a loud crash and everything went from peaceful morning to amusement ride from hell.
--The car went into a spin, there was glass flying everywhere. I held onto the wheel as best as I could to try and ride out the spin, and bring the car under some sort of control.
--It was about this time that I could hear a baby crying, and for some reason I could just barely make out it's little hand. Well I took one hand of the wheel and reached for the babies hand and held on to the little thing as best as I could.
--After what seemed like forever the car came to a stop and when my vision cleared to the point again where I could focus on the interior of the car. I looked over at my wife to find her car door open and she was no where to be found. But I could hear yelling at me that she was alright ,so I didn't panic.
--Next I looked in the back seat to check on the babies. At first glance I started to panic the back seat empty and filled with broken glass everywhere. It was then I remembered we had left the babies at home.
--Getting out of the car was a trick and a half because I had to get out on my wife's side because the driver-side was bent right into the driver's seat. But after fighting with the seat belt for a bit I was finally able to get out.
--I found my wife standing next to one of her co worker's trying to get the glass out of her hair. She asked me if I was OK and I reassured her I was fine just little shook up was all.
--I still couldn't get the crying baby out of my head so I went back to check the car again. And no there were no babies in the car. We had in fact left them home.
--Well not being one to look a gift horse in the mouth, I realized that if we didn't bring the babies from home with us. Then maybe there was one we hadn't known about when we left this morning. And maybe my wife was pregnant. Or maybe I'd finally broken that last string of sanity and gone over the edge.
--The ambulance came and I had my wife go to the hospital to get checked out. before she got in I told her to let the hospital know she might be pregnant.
--She didn’t say anything, but assured me she would let them know.
--I got a ride home with one her coworker, so the older boys could catch the bus for school and someone would be there with the babies.
--When my wife got home from the hospital, she let me know she was fine except for a cracked rib. Oh and being pregnant.
--It was then that she asked me how in the Sam hill I knew she was pregnant.
--I just smiled and told her a little voice told me....
