--The other day coming out of a store loaded down with
groceries and what not it started to rain. Usually I’m not too impressed with
the prospect of rainy parking lot's because they end up smelling like a big old
asphalt version of a wet dog. But it was hotter than heck when we went into the
store so the prospect of a little cooling off was something to look forward to.
--Of course my wife was beside herself with joy. There’s something about rain she seems to enjoy. Over the years I’ve never been able to figure it out. But it sure makes her a tad goofy.
--When we got to the car I made her get in while I stored the groceries and what not. Not because the added help wouldn't have been nice but because in my book hearing about the wonder's of rain while getting soaked to the bone is a tad annoying.
--Well like everything thing else in life you learn to roll with the flow. The rain stopped as quick as it started. And the parking lot greeter's came back out again. You know the ones, the little tiny birds who seem to hang around parking lots looking for forgotten crumbs and what not.
--Being busy I didn’t pay them much mind until a couple flew up and landed on the cart I was unloading. Trying to be polite I said howdy and went about my business. They sat there for a bit and then I guess they figured let's check out the back of my car. Because that's what the little fools did. They flew into the back of the car and started checking out the bags I had just loaded.
--Well having a soft spot for more thing's than I should. I cracked open a bag of cheese puffs and tossed a couple to the little fools. They quickly snatched up the wayward puffs and flew off.
--When they left I just smiled it seems they had accomplished what they set out to do I guess. Con an old fool out of a treat. Either they knew it or not I don’t know. They also reminded this old fool of a few things too. So I figured it was a fair exchange.
--Take time to look on the bright side of life, and count the little blessing that come along. Perhaps dancing in the rain isn’t so bad….
