THE FINE ART OF HANGING IN THERE....07/20/15

--For some reason in this age of snap crackle and pop of instant access of thing’s. The fine art of hanging in there has been left by the wayside somewhere.
--I’ve noticed it more in the last few years with my children. Nobody has the patience to wait for things. Everything needs to happen right this instant or is quickly cast aside. Over the years I’ve seen so perfectly good thing cast aside because they have a few dents dings or quirks.
--Really it's a sad state of affairs. But it appears the norm so it's kind of hard to go against it.
--Perhaps someday the fine art of hanging in there will see the light of day again. Maybe when somebody makes a app for it perhaps.....

THANKS FOR THE TREAT...06/28/15

--I’ve often wondered what kind of animal responds to a treat by loving you up first for giving them a treat and then beating you up after they have finish it.
--If I didn't see it with my own eyes I wouldn't of believed it. But that is exactly what my wife’s dang fool cat Dinky does every time she buys the fool a can of cat food and gives it to him.
--Why I have no idea, maybe it's a cat thing. Myself I’ve never had that problem with dogs and even cats I’ve been known to offer a treat to. I probably not give them another treat for sure. If that was how they showed their appreciation for their treat to me.
--Not my wife of course she thinks it is weird and funny. So she continues to buy Dinky a treat every once in a while. It seems every cat that my wife has ever had is a few bricks shy of a load.

SOFT HEARTED OLD FOOLS....06/29/15

--Apparently along with all the other thing's we've been plagued with over the years. Having a soft heart has come to the top of the curse pile to rear is whack a doodle head.
--Oh it's not like it's been any kind of secret. Both my wife and I have known if for years. From feeding neighbor's children who hung around when we were having a cookout to stray cat's and various other creature's who've found their way to our yard over the years.
--All I can say is somewhere out there is a dang fool sign like the old hobo signs of old that these people are good for a few free meals.
--Of course say what you will we both accept it. And over the years have learned to try and live with as best as we can. Sometimes it's a pain in the neck, and sometimes like everything else in life we probably wouldn't change it if we could.....

MIDNIGHT MASSAGE....07/23/15

--Coming back from the bathroom to find your wife sitting up clutching her pillow sweating like crazy is a scary experience when it first happened. But when I found out it was a symptom of menopause it didn't make it any less scary just a little more understandable. About the only thing I could do was rub her back in a effort to try and make her feel better while the hot flash tormented her.
--After awhile our bodies seemed to sync to the point the hot flashes happened while I was up going to the bathroom. So we would make a night of it. I’d throw in a few old movies that usually make us feel better and have a couple of cups of coffee while I rubbed her back. Trying to make her feel better.
--Oh I’m pretty sure she has a few during the 2 hour stretch’s when I’m sleeping.  And even though I’ve told her to give me a nudge and I’d rub her back, she just rides them out letting me sleep. Because that's the type of person she is.
--It probably doesn't seem like much but in away I think we both enjoyed the closeness of a rather nasty obnoxious experience by trying to turn it into a positive one. Sometimes that's the only way to maintain what little sanity you have in this crazy old world.....

COLD FLOOR WAKE-UP.... 11/13/15

--There's something about bare feet on a cold floor that just reaches into your brain pan and snaps you right awake.
--Of course the whiplash that results is usually enough to get you up and moving it kind hangs around a bit to remind just what in Sam hill socks are for.
--Myself I prefer warm feet in the morning, and hot coffee in the cup.
--When neither one is readily available the wait can be mind numbing, but like all things seems waiting is all in how you look at it.....

YOU DIDN’T REALLY THINK…03/09/15

--You didn’t really think you just grabbed the one looked like it would work.
--But when you got it home what did you find, it was just a tad smaller than the one you were replacing.
--It’s not like it didn’t work, and the little space at the end well at lest the majority of the thing is covered. And yes the next time I go to buy a toilet seat I’ll remember not all toilet seat’s round. Some of the dang thing’s are oval shaped.
--I guess you live and learn. But really what did they expect sending me to get the dang thing in the first place. And to be honest I just couldn’t see spending a extra $5 dollars for 2 inches of plastic….

DRAGGING YOUR PILLOW DAYS....06/04/15

--Getting up in the morning is usually a some what pleasant experience. Providing of course the cats haven’t been up to any shenanigans. And left the remnants of their weird little playtime in your path.
--There’s the promise of coffee and quiet before the rush. Which as the years go by seems to be at all hours. And of course the pitter patter of little tiny bug-a-boo's still running around. Because nobodies figured out what in Sam hill time to go to bed.
--What’s really hard are the days when no matter how much coffee you drink you just cant wake up. And your pillow seems to follow you all day whispering come back to me.
--It makes for a long day to say the lest. Dragging your pillow around all day....

LOOKING AT ME.....11/26/15

--When the children were little they devised a game which sole purpose was to drive me and anybody unlucky enough to be caught up in it over the edge.
I called it looking at me. What in Sam hill they called it I have no idea.
--It would start out simple enough one child would run out and claim another was looking at them. Of course being some what new to the game I’d dive in and tell the offending child to stop looking at the other.
--Which of course would start the next level which was a reply of the of the first level.
--Then I of course would try the separate the little darlings. Which only provided a moments relief because that’s when I found out that not only were my children blessed with a over abundance of cuteness but they could also see through walls.
--After about a hour of this I’d pull the old vacuum cleaner out of the closet and start vacuuming. Which for some reason would drive the little darling's right into each other's arms by giving them a common goal of making sure they didn't get vacuumed up. Or what ever toys were laying about.
--Needless to say over the years we burned out allot of vacuum cleaners. But we did end up with some pretty clean carpets.....

THE BEST WE’LL MAKE DO…07/10/15

--To slow down in a world spinning so fast shouldn’t be so hard, all it take’s is for one foot to get off from the gas.
--The rest will come while we coast for awhile and slow down. Taking a peek at what we’ve been missing for so long. When race from place to place barely chancing to speck.
--What a day that could be, if for just a few minutes we could get the lead out of our feet.
--Maybe someday I guess but hopefully not to long from now, in the mean time the best we’ll do. In this world spinning so fast under our lead filled feet….

EVERY ONCE IN AWHILE....09/06/15

--Every once in awhile thing's happen that make you scratch your head in wonder. Or maybe it's just me I don't know but it seems lately I’ve been doing allot of head scratching.
--While out and about this morning I noticed a few thing's and as usual it started me to wondering. In the tree next to my blue berries where the dang fool crow usually hangs out when the berries are starting to ripening there was a fluttering of moment out of the corner of my. So I glanced over expecting that whack a doodle crow but instead there was a big old grey owl just sitting there starring.
--Well not wanting to seem unsocial able I lifted my coffee cup in a good morning howdy. Of course the fella didn't answer, probably would have had a heart attack if he did. He just looked at me and went back to starring..
--Taz ,Squash and Buddy  were in the process of beating each other up and Hansel was in my lap waiting for the sun to rise. Which was probably just as well.
--Before to long I noticed and another moment out of the corner of my eye and the old possum came ambling along out of the tall grass with what looked like to small babies following behind. They came to the clearing next to the blue berries and started off again back into the tall grass heading for the hedge row.
--Well sitting there watching the sunrise I figured may it was time to move my serenity chair again. It seems a fella can't even find a little peace and quiet even in his backyard what with all the visitor’s and good morning greeting going on....

FROM THE FRONT SEAT....05/01/15

--Sometimes I know how dogs feel when they ride in the car. Well not really but I can guess. Being trapped in the same day to day grind sometimes it's just nice to get out and go for a ride. And it really doesn't have to be anywhere special just as long as it’s somewhere.
--The last time we took waffles for a ride he was such a spaz I had to hold him in my lap. Which wasn't bad if you didn't mind being constantly kissed by a dang fool dog.
--But I guess I finally figured out why the Sam hill he was so excited. The last time we went to the store I was so excited I talked constantly.
--Apparently both my wife and daughter thought this was a tad unnerving because my daughter commented from the back seat with,” Gee mom I think maybe dad needs more outings." My wife and daughter both broke out with giggles. Guess that’s what I get for living with a bunch of whack a doodles....

NINJA FIGHTING GRASSHOPPERS....08/28/15

--Walking through the tall grass using a cane probably isn't to smart. Especially since I’ve yet to master the dang fool thing. But if there's one thing I never been accused of is having a bucket of brains to spare.
--After five minute's I came to the realization that walking anywhere having to do with a cane was a pain in the neck. Walking in tall grass that seemed determined to trip me with every other step was just asking for trouble.
--And if that wasn't enough to keep me focused I had to contend with dang fool grasshopper’s who seemed to be doing their version of ninja fighting. Jumping up and at each other.
--But I did eventually find the grapes we planted, an found out they weren’t ripe yet. The exercise was good even though by the time I got back to the house I found I was leaning more and more on the dang fool cane.
--Before I opened the front door I found I had picked up a hitchhiker it seems a dang fool grasshopper was in my pocket. I set the little fool loose on the railing figuring he'd find his way. Or taz and squash would find a new playmate.....

THE STARING GAME…. 07/22/15

--There's been a return of a old game, that's starting up again. The good old staring game. We used to have bouts of it when the children were little. It was constant source of discontent throughout the house. There wasn't a day that went by that you wouldn't hear so and so's staring at me!.
--Then of course the children got older and they went on to bigger and better things to fight about. Leaving the staring game along the wayside with all the other games like so and so touched me.
--Well now it seems the staring game is back only this time it's the dang fool cats playing. Every time I turn around lately I find two cats squaring off hollering at each other.
--Of course it usually starts because one of them was staring at the other to long.  And of course it's the two males. Why in Sam hill males are so sensitive is beyond me. You never see a couple female cats sitting around hollering at each other because one was staring at the other to long.
--For the life of me I’ve never been able to figure out males in general let alone some their shenanigans.....

SEARCHING FOR THOSE WORKER BEES….02/15/15

--Oh will you tell me please just what it means when they say I’ll be right back, and leave you standing there waiting, staring off into the space, and searching for their smiling face.
--When after a bit you get tired of waiting and go off instead. To snag another of those mysterious worker’s who walked around with smile’s pasted to their heads.
--Slowly you walk because you don’t want to spook them, their very skittish you see. If they see you coming they’ll take off running, and you’ll be back where you started.
--Searching for those worker bees….

ALBINO BUG‘S.....07/23/15

--I don't mind bugs I figure they all have there place in the grand scheme of thing's. But when it comes to certain type's they tend to freak me out a bit. One of them is albino spider’s, grasshopper’s, and praying mantis’s. Or anything albino for that matter. Why they freak me out I have no idea. They always have though.
--Usually when I run into them I give them a wide berth. Sometimes though you got to go hang out in their general area for a bit. And that will start for a lot of the old fears to kick in.
--Crawling around under the house isn't fun and generally I’ll go out of the way to keep from having to do it. But sometimes you have to when a emergency comes up.
--Needless to say setting aside your fears of creepy crawly thing's long enough to be able to function during a emergency gets to be a tad annoying. Especially when you have to pass through a group of albino grasshoppers to get under the house. And them run into cobwebs and albino spider's crawling away from the light.
--I’ve always found your mind can be your best friend or your worst enemy. And over the year's we've had some grand old battle’s. Usually around what I could and couldn't do. But then again I never did like being told what to do. So some petty fear of creepy crawly thing's just makes me a tad stubborn. Even though I swear I could feel the dang fool thing's crawly on me the whole time I‘m under the house crawling around.
--Of course my wife just looks at me like I’m crazy when I have to go under the dang fool house. Because she's well aware I’m not to happy about it. And even though I keep telling myself that I’ve gotten over the dang fool fear of creepy crawly thing’s. crawling around with a bunch of them makes for a interesting time.....

SOMETIMES THAT'S ALL YOU'VE GOT... 02/19/15

--Maybe if it was easy we wouldn't have such a hard time. But then again if it wasn't hard we probably would forget it as soon as we were done.
--Maybe that's the reason, or maybe it's not. All I do know for sure is two many questions are like to many cooks stirring a pot.
--Sometimes it is just better to follow along and do, and save all the question for later when there's more time then what we've got.
--I know it's sounds a little strange in this day and age, but sometimes that's all you've got..

GIGGLES AND TWITTERS.... 10/03/15

--Being surrounded by a bunch of whack a doodle children taking about the latest game their playing is quite the experience. Usually I try to stay out of it because quite frankly I’ve no idea what in the Sam hill their talking about half the time when their full giggles and twitches.
--Every once in awhile I’ll happen by and take a gander at the latest craze. And listen patiently as they explain to me what’s going on and the mechanic’s of the game.
--I do the best I can to get a handle on the whole thing. Some I get and some not so much.
--My wife says it's a generation thing. Our generation just doesn't get the fascination with virtual reality and the whole game craze.
--Myself I like to think I’m pretty open minded about things. But some of the content seems a bit marginal at the most. Why in Sam hill they figure a game should have to be tittering on the edge of reason in order to be good is beyond me. But I guess it takes all kinds.
--My wife seems to think I’m a throw back to a different time. And need to accept that it’s it's a different world these days. Myself I kind of figure that once you throw out common sense and good taste out the window all your left with is useless drivel. But hey what do I know.
--I do think entertainment doesn't have sink into the gutter to be entertaining. It just takes a little bit more work to try and raise the bar a tad. And there lies the problem. It’s so much easier to just lower the bar and produce the kind of stuff that’s been passing itself of as entertainment these days.
--Someday people will realize easy is not always better. But until that happens I guess we just have to make the best of what’s available. And remember these always the on off switch to fall back on.
--We all have a choice and once we start compromising our common sense and core values just for the sake of a few hours watching a movie or TV show or playing a video game. It gets easier and easier to accept more and more. Until we find ourselves no longer being able to face the man in the mirror. Something I‘m just not ready to give up just yet. But hey what do I know according to some people I‘m just a throw back to a generation when common sense and values were something to take pride in not apologize for ever time some over sensitive whack a doodle with a axe to grind makes a fuss…..

NO STRING'S ATTACHED.... 10/03/15

--Usually when I come across a offer that starts out with no strings attached I get nervous and start feeling for my wallet.
--Most of the time they end up shredded and in the cat box, where they'll do the most good. Rather than me trying to wade through the twisted writing to try and figure out just where in the Sam hill the catch is. Putting myself on the road to a brain aneurysm.
--My wife claims if I took the time I might find out they were good ones out there. But that’s only another or her not so subtle attempts to hear me rant about the shuffle and muffle writing they usually contain. Where they shuffle the truth by muffling it with big words.
--Over the years if there’s one thing I’ve learned everything has a certain amount of strings attached. You do the best you can by trying to find the ones with lest amount of strings. It's a adventure just trying to figure out which is which.....

PRAYING THOSE LEFT BEHIND FIND PEACE... 03/11/15

--Seeing the image's flickering across the screen you'd think there would have been more of a response.
--Unfortunately there were not.
--I guess it's true what they say about memories fading and all that.
--A deep well of sadness was all that was conjured up. Sadness because I’m sure things haven’t really changed that much. and I pray perhaps someday peace will be found for those left behind....

ROLLING UP YOUR SLEEVES.... 11/12/15

--Wearing short sleeve shirts is easier than rolling up your sleeves when its time to down business. Or so I’ve been told.
--Myself I wear short sleeve shirt because no matter how hard I try to keep the dang fool things rolled up they always seem to fall down.
--On a hot day there nothing that corks my griddle faster than having stop what I’m doing to roll up my dang fool sleeves…..

MAPLE LEAF UMBRELLA….10/01/15

--Sitting under a tree while it’s raining probably isn’t the smartest thing you can do. But for some dang fool reason hearing the patter of raindrops as they hit the maple leaf canopy overhead is kind of comforting.
--I guess my wife has rubbed of on me over the years after all. Because that’s where I found myself this morning waiting for waffles to cut out his shenanigans and concentrate on just why in Sam hill we were out there in the gentle sprinkling rain.
--Of course the dang fool had to go through his whole barking like the hounds of the devil were after him. But when he finally realized I was wasn’t going back in until he did his duty he got down to the business at hand.
--I will say one thing if you put aside all the other aspects of a cool rain, aches and twitches it does sound kind of cool under a maple leaf umbrella…..

MORNING BATH....07/15/15

--Dogs and cats seem to be a lot like children when it comes to getting a bath. They fight like the devil when you try to get the little fools into the tub, make a big splash while there and then go whack a doodle crazy afterwards because they feel better for the experience.
--Poor Waffles got a bath this morning while doing his morning duty. My wife felt sorry for the little fool was soaked and went out and rescued him. Jerry-lee spent the time in her dog house and was dry as a bone of course. But Jerry-lee's never been too fond of getting wet in general.
--Sometimes it amazes me to no end the endless similarities between animals and those children of mine. But hey maybe it just me......

END OF THE MONTH GRUMBLINGS....02/05/16

--After a full month of sticking to the straight and narrow, and following a plan. There’s always a wee bit of grumbling.
--The trick is to recognize them for what the are, and let them pass while waving so long for now.
--Of course this is probably easier to do when there confined to just yourself. When the gather strength in numbers it becomes a bit of a problem. Because somebody has to be the voice of reason, and that usually falls on the old pink hat wearing fool.
--Like everything with patience order is usually restored. And the original course is safe for the time being....

CHASING THE TRAIN....07/24/15

--The nothing worse in my book than chasing a train of thought. For some dang fool reason lately it seems to be what I spend a lot of time doing. At first I figured it was the universe's way of amusing itself at my expense. But then I realize the true source was that I was constantly being distracted by things and forget to write the dang fool thought down first.
--But like everything it just takes a few correction’s to set things right. So now I carry a pen and little notepad everywhere and write things down. So far it seems to be working.
--Of course my wife just shakes her head because she knows it won't be too long and I’ll be asking her if she knows where I left the dang fool notebook…..

TO TIRED TO MOVE....07/14/15

--Poor dinky spends most of his day sleeping. Which is understandable because he spends the nights looking for mice and checking on everybody while they sleep.
--The poor fool fell asleep on the coffee table. And after a few hours slowly worked his way over the edge with his head hanging. Which led to his falling off the table of course. But instead of waking up he just stretched out and continued sleeping.
--It wasn't until my wife came in the living room for a nap did he awaken long enough to open one eye. When he saw it was my wife he crawled up on the couch and went to sleep with her for a nap.
--I guess those long nights are even hard on cranky old bi-polar cats too....

THE CURIOUS CAT....08/15/15

--The two recent additions to our little house of whack a doodle have made themselves right to home and fit right in with everyone.
--The other day I came out in the kitchen for my morning coffee to find Gandoll had some gotten his head stuck in my wife’s desk drawer. Of course his little pal Mortay wasn't helping. Because every time Gandoll tried to get his head out Mortay would jump up and push the drawer closed.
--How long this was going on I have no idea. But Gandoll was real happy when I pulled his head out. Mortay was a little upset it seems I spoiled his game.
--Once again the house of whack a doodle has two new converts....

PLAY TIME'S OVER....05/24/15

--Sometimes it seam’s as we get older there doesn't seem to be any time for play time.
--Maybe it's the constant push and pull of this crazy world we live in.
--Or maybe were all living under the misconception that along with old age comes lack of a need for play time.
--My wife will admit at time's I am a little childish. But I do believe she wouldn't change it if she could.....

THE SOAP OPERA OF LIFE.....07/20/15

--What a mess. When the dang fool thing's start getting out of hand. It just keep's going and going.
--For the life of me I have never really understood any of it. And no I have not watched the dang fool TV soap opera’s. Mostly because they seemed kind of silly.
--And I’ve spent to much time keeping track of the gossip of the airwaves. In fact just making it through the checkout's passed all the dang fool magazine headlines than hang there gives me a headache.
--And as far as what passes for headline news, lately it seems worse than a dang fool soap opera.
--Just getting through each day with what sanity I have left is enough of an accomplishment for me.....

WAFFLES AND MY WIFE....08/29/15

--Putting it simple the little fool is in love with my wife. When she goes outside all she has to do is call and the little fool comes running.
--Me I have to put him on a leash and sometimes even have to carrying him out to do his business. Whimpering all the way.
--When I come out for coffee waffles just looks at me and then goes back to sleep. But when I get my wife’s coffee cup down he starts bouncing like a fool because he knows she’s getting up.
--If she goes out with out him he'll spend hours listening at the door waiting for her return.
--Car rides are a bit tricky because he wants to be in her lap so I end up holding him. Which is like trying to restrain a octopus with a one track mind.
--Needless to say it's a weird relationship because my wife never went out her way to give the little fool any special attention. In fact for the first 6 months we had him she completely ignored him. She wanted him to bond with everyone else. Which he has but when it comes to my wife he has a special bond I guess.....

CAT'S ON THE RUN....07/22/15

--The quickest way to get a bunch of cat's to start running is by picking up a bottle of flea spray or powder. For some reason the whole idea just doesn't set right with the little fools. They scamper for the hills and hide in the most dark and remote places.
--With all the rain and humidity fleas seem to be going whack a doodle. And the cat’s, kittens and dog's are being bombarded.
--Trying to coral the little fools long enough to throw collar's and flea spray on requires a team effort. With everyone pitching in to make sure all the little darling get their fair share of flea spray and a flea collar to boot.
--And then comes the glaring looks as the animals try to figure out a way to give us a taste of our own medicine. Or get better at playing hide and seek for the next time.…

A PICTURE IS ALL IT TAKE'S....09/11/15

--Sometimes it amazes me how with a picture of just what I is you want your able to put it together. Of course I usually draw the dang fool thing in my mind, but for some reason it still works.
--Usually it’s process of trail and error. But after awhile with a little perseverance I’m able to put it together.
--As hard as I try to explain the process to my children it seems to be such a foreign concept they have as yet been able to grasp it.
--Maybe someday. I’m hoping with enough example's they'll figure out what in Sam hill I’m talking about.....

WALKING THE LINE....07/11/15

--Trying to maintain balance in a tilted day is a pain in the neck. It’s all a process of give and take while still walking the line.
--Myself I don't like to make a habit out of going backwards. And at times will do my darnest not to. Sometimes it's hard to say the least. If not impossible.
--Throwing pets and children into the mix adds another dimission to the whole thing. Giving in usually results in a temporary fix. But more problems down the line. Especially if each party doesn't work together to try to bring order to the mishmash of life.
--On a whole my wife and I have always resigned to work together. And have had pretty good luck .Oh there have been days when it wouldn't taken much to throw the whole thing out of whack. But it's kind of hard to walk away from your best friend....

THE YO YO EFFECT....08/29/15

--Coming to terms with the yo yo effect has been a real mind bender. You'd think after all this time it would get easier but for some dang fool reason it hasn't.
--You get 3 maybe 4 good days in a row and then the temp changes and whamo your using a cane you haven’t quite mastered just to get around with. Which is a pain in the neck in itself.
--I guess it's the slowly sinking in realization that things change and its time to come to terms with it. Being the hard headed fool that I’ve always been its a bitter dang pill to swallow. But its getting easier at lest I’m remembering to take the dang fool cane where ever I go now. And even though I hate to admit it to myself its a godsend in its own dang fool way.
--Of course the things to do lists get longer because I’m lucky to finish 2 or 3 things. But I’ve slowly accepted the fact that something is better than nothing.
--My wife shakes her head when I hobble out to take the dogs out on bad days. But I just smile and say the fresh air will do me good. In reality of course I hate to give in just a little bit. Because I refuse to cater to a bad days. Its like feeding gremlins after midnight do it once and then next thing you know your in for trouble. Just because its a bad day doesn't mean I’ll sit around and whine about it. It just means I’ll move slower, but I will keep moving.
--I know it sounds weird but sometimes its the only thing to hang your hat on. And on a bad day I’ll take what I can get.....

TIMES SURE HAVE CHANGED.....05/22/15

--The other day I held the door open for a young lady and she opened the other door to get in the store. I couldn't help but smile I guess times sure have changed.
--It used to be courteous if you held the door open for people. They said thanks and went about their business. I guess not so much anymore.
--To be honest in all the years I’ve held doors open for people I noticed it's been happening more lately now. Not so much with older people who appreciate not having to throw their shoulder out to try to get some of those dang fool doors open. Younger people well there’s another story.
--Sometimes it just force of habit opening the door for them. I guess old habits are hard to break sometimes along with good manners….

SPOTTY GLASSES OR TURKEY'S IN THE BACKYARD....05/29/15

--At first glance I thought perhaps I needed to clean my glasses. And then I thought maybe my neighbors turkey’s were wondering around in my backyard. And then I guess it hit me these turkeys were a lot smaller than his turkeys. They must be wild turkeys.
--Sitting on my porch drinking coffee with my dimblub pals. I couldn't help but smile, it seems just when you thought you'd seen all there was to see something new pops up.
--Taking my eyes off the dang fool wild turkeys for a moment I noticed Hansel’s tail start to quiver. And sure enough off she went turkey stalking. I guess she figured it was worth a shot.
--To be honest I never saw turkeys moved so fast .Apparently news of Hansel has even reached the turkey world. She came back after awhile mumbling to herself. I patted her on the head and told her better luck next time. She just glared at me and went about her way.....

THE ADVENTURES OF SQUASH....05/20/15

--Squash is a little thing with a nose that would make a bloodhound proud. Crack open the icebox and you can watch him come running.
--The old cat Dinky tries to teach him to look for mice. But he keeps getting distracted by little thing’s. Like dust, pieces of string and just about anything that moves.
--The only thing that keeps his attention that I’ve seen is food of any shape or size.
--Now if Dinky could figure out how to use this he might have a chance at teaching the little fool something…..

WHEN PUSH COMES TO SHOVE....07/14/15

--Every once in awhile a situation comes along where everybody pulls together to get something accomplished. It's nice to see and down right pleasant to have everyone throwing a hand to the job.
--Over the years there seems to have been stages to these little miracles happing. Of course when the children were young they would follow you around just begging for something to do.
--The middle years were a mystery. And probably always will be.
--The later year well apparently were back to the beginning again. Because no longer do you have to hunt the little fools down. They follow you out the door with expectation of the coming chore whatever it might be.
--it's nice to know when push comes to shove they don't just sit back and wait to be asked....

MAKING A BETTER DAY....07/20/15

--When my day start’s heading downhill I usually take a deep breath and count to ten. Oh it doesn’t stop the decline but it sure makes the ride a lot smoother.
--Needless to say there are a lot of days when most of my breathing is really deep breathing.
--Of course my wife and children look at me a little strange when they notice. But I just smile and keep at what ever I’m doing.
--It's doesn't seem like much. But there are times when it helps keep me from shaking my fist and cursing the universe. And puts me on the way to making a better day.....

MOMMY MODE....07/26/15

--Having two males cats in the kitchen with a mommy cat and a box of babies has been a real test of patience. For some dang fool reason they can't seem to get it though there dang fool heads don't start the alpha male games around a mommy cat.
--No matter how many times the mommy cat flies out her box and gives the two fools a what for they still start in again. And again and again. I mean seriously there must be something wrong with the male cats as a whole.
--Usually when it happens they both looked totally shocked and slink into a neutral corner until the dust settles. Only to start up again a short time later.
--You would think the dang fools would get the idea but apparently not. I guess it's just wired into their DNA. Sure makes you wonder.....

THE BLINKING CURSOR.... 07/21/15

--Maybe it's just me but sometimes it seems like I spend a lot of time waiting for that dang fool cursor. Either waiting for a program to load or a page on the internet. Sometimes it really corks my griddle. Usually when I’ve had a hard night chasing sleep that wouldn't come.
--On days like that I take my coffee and go outside and drink it. And keep drinking until I’m fully awake. Because I know if I’m not I’ll end up snapping at just about everything and everybody.
--Along time ago I heard a saying that always stuck with me,” a man's got to know his limitation's." In my case I learned along time ago my limitation’s and have been trying to coexist with the dang fool thing’s. It’s a real pain in the neck.
--Oh I have gotten better. Being a parent will do that to a fellow. But it's still a pain sometimes. Especially when you have a computer who seam’s to love taunting you with a blinking dang fool cursor....

BETWEEN THE WIND AND THE RAIN....03/26/15

--Well the temp went up a tad, and the winds started and now the rains. And unless I’m mistaken there grass peeking through what’s left of the snow.
--Oh I’m not complaining. yeah it's a mess out there right now, but it'll clear up in a few days. In the mean time it's a perfect opportunity to change the furniture around and do some pre spring cleaning.
--Of course my children are not to happy but hey it's been a long winter. And left to their own devises we'd have dust bunnies the size of tumble weeds rolling through the house.
--But as they like to point out I never did need much of a excuse to clean. probably because living with 4 children and a house full of pets gave me plenty of opportunities....

NINJA GNOME....07/12/15

--Standing in the widow keeping a watchful eye on all the goings on. Ever ready to lend a hand to all those passing by.
--When the darkness comes you know he's still there by his glowing eyes.
--It's a great comfort to all. To know that ninja gnome is there if ever the need arises....

STARLIGHT CRICKET DANCE….08/15/15

--The slight chill in the air is a welcome relief to the days smoldering humidly. The cricket’s chirping in the air is icing on the cake of a starlight walk. Of course the dew covered grass is a reminder not to get distracted and keep your eyes on what your doing.
--My wife had a question as to why there were lawn chairs in certain spots in the yard. When I answered they were in my serenity chairs she just rolled her eyes and said of course they are. It seems over the years she’s come to accept certain from me and just go with the flow.
--Sometimes I find comfort in the little moments stolen from the day’s rush in my serenity chairs. A few quiet moments to recharge and I’m ready again to rejoin the battle of getting through the day.
--Of course walking with coffee while using a cane, is a challenge. But It’s well worth the effort. Especially when there’s more than enough magic under a starlight covered sky to go around….

BUNNY HOPPING CATS….05/06/15

--You know your grass is to tall when the cats who hang around your house are hopping around like a bunch of bunny rabbits. At lest that’s the way my wife put it to me.
--Of course I tried to tell it was the cat food from the always sells for less store but she wasn’t buying it.
--So along with all the other whack a doodle in and out’s of life in the country. It look’s like mowing the dang fool crater infested yard has been moved up a notch on the things to do list.
--Now if I could find the dang fool thing’s to do list I might know what to expect….

THE MASS EXODUS....07/07/15

--Once again we stand on the cliff wondering just what in Sam hill went wrong.
--Knowing the wonder that is known as cat's it could be just about anything. Sometimes it seems everything's going along fine and then whamo every single one of them goes whack a doodle crazy. Doing the most insane thing's possible. Each one trying to outdo the other to prove just which one is the most whack a doodle crazy.
--It wouldn't be bad but when it comes to cat's they seem to have the ability to take most simplest thing's and turn them into a nightmare once they decide to go of the deep end.
--But that’s life with cats, kittens and dogs. Throw children in the mix. And it's a recipe for disaster in the making if it's not nipped in the bud quickly.
--Fortunately over the years we've had many such occasion’s and have learned to adapt to their games. Setting them straight and changing the mass exodus before it's to late.
--And if that's not enough to put a damper on your day, mother nature starts in with her shenanigans playing games with the weather.
--It sure make's for trying time’s. Setting cats straight about acceptable behaviour. And what not.
--But like everything else with a little patience the storm can be handled. As far as the weather tomorrows a new day. anything’s possible.....

GOTTA LOVE THE LITTLE WINGNUTS....07/19/15

--A box of baby kittens are amazing to watch. When you have the time of course. Which isn't to often when your house is filled with cat's who's main occupation seam’s to be swinging from whack a doodle to wing nut  with every minute of the day.
--Even though they can be a pain in the neck at times. They have their moments which is probably why people in general enjoy their companionship so much.
--Myself it's give and take relationship I get along with them and they don't go out of their to cause to many problems that'll drive me any further over the edge. So far it seems to work.
--Kittens are fun. When you have the time to get a look. Or just spend watching them do kittens stuff. And older cats have even been known to fall in love with the little fluff balls. Which is always a plus. Because it keeps them occupied and out of the whack a doodle zone......

DRAGONFLIES AND BUTTERFLIES IN THE MORNING....07/19/15

--It's not often when your treated to a beautiful sight in the morning. Most mornings the ground is sopping wet or so humid it's like trying breath under water lately.
--This morning was about the same being that it rained in the wee hours of the morning. But with a added twist I’m happy to say.
--When dog's and I went out for our morning foray the ground was covered with oodles of butterflies and big old dragonflies. Waffles wasn't to impressed but than again he's never really impressed with anything mother nature has to offer. Jerry lee was indifferent about the whole thing. In fact she barked at me because I wasn't moving fast enough. I was watching the butterflies and dragonflies.
--When I came back in and got my coffee my wife just shook her head when I told her where I was going. I guess she gotten used to me getting easily distracted over the years….

SPREADING THE SUNSHINE ....06/25/15

--Giving comfort to other's only takes a moment or to.
--Sometimes with a word, or the lending of a ear. Or with a smile to wish good cheer.
--What goes around comes around, of this I’m quite certain.
--Spreading the sunshine seems to just make sense, you never know when you might need a few rays on a cloudy day....

WAFFLES AND THE CONSTANT YAMMERING .... 04/22/15

--Waffles dose not discriminate when it comes to barking. He barks at everybody and everything.
--The dog has bat eyes when it comes to sight. He can see and hear just about the smallest thing and go on a barking jag over it.
--From leaves ,crickets, neighbors hammering, to birds flying overhead. The dog is amazing. God forbid anybody pulls in the driveway. He becomes the picture of one little barking fool.
--For the longest time we thought perhaps the dog was touched in the head. Until of course the day my wife turned it around with her insight and said what if he's just saying hi. Well when you think about it maybe that’s what’s going on. Maybe the little fool is just so happy he says hi to everything. Something to think about ….

WILBER AND THE YARD SALE....04/02/15

--One day while having our yearly yard sale, Wilber chose this time to bust out of her pen.
--Apparently Wilber thought it would be a perfect time for a visit. She came up about 90 miles a hour and stopped on a dime right in front of a box of stuffed animals. My wife started choking on her coffee and the customers that were there all gasped in surprise. And Wilber she started rutting through the box.
--After a couple of minutes she found what she was looking for. It was a small stuffed pig. She started howling with glee and then ran back to her pen.
--Everyone was quiet until my wife said I guess she didn't want to sell her baby. Everyone started cracking up. Well, I just mosey on toward the back yard to make sure the fool pig wasn't going to make a return visit...

SUNDAY MORNING SHOWDOWN....11/29/15

--Usually by the time Sunday rolls around I’m just to dang tired to raise to another of the countless showdowns everyday life seems to entail as of late.
--Unfortunately it seems to be common knowledge to the universe because on more Sundays than I care to count,  find myself teetering on the edge just waiting for the next poke that's sure to send me plummeting over.
--For the life of me I just can't seem to raise to the occasion. But the poking goes on. Usually I’ll ride out the storm bidding my time until the day passes. Gather what rest I can and prepare for the week. Because like a snow ball rolling down a hill by time Monday rolls around it'll be a full day of shoveling muck and mire.
--My wife just shakes her head because she's been blessed with the get up and go of the old feuding clans it seems and can raise to the occasion of a good old fashioned showdown any day of the week.
--Myself I need just one day a week when I can gather what wits I have left in the old brain pan and take a breather so to speak......

THE RETURN OF THE BIG MOUTHED CRICKETS.... 09/02/16

--I suppose it was bound to happen. The question was when I guess. But as usual in the House of Whack a  Doodle when something goes wrong it goes all the way.
--Now don't get me wrong I get along with just about anything, although there are some creepy crawlies I prefer to keep my distance from. And expect the same from them. There are those few instances when we're forced to share space, with in reason I give everything a far chance. And on those rare occasions where we reach a impasse I usually let karma sort it out.
--Myself I don't really mind cricket's, in fact I find their chirping quite relaxing. My wife and children for some reason don't, go figure.
--So of course when we got invaded by a bunch of the little darlings the other day it made for a frantic evening trying to round up the little fellas.
--But as with everything with a little patience,we rounded them up and set them outside where they could be with their friends celebrating the night.
--I tried to get Waffles to sit under the old maple with to lessen to their singing but he followed the children back into the house. I guess sometimes it the little moments that matter the most....

WAFFLLES DOESN'T SHARE FOOD....09/16/15

--Most of the time waffles is a friendly little fella, he's more than happy to bark a greeting anytime time of the day. Or night for that matter.
--When it comes to food it's another story altogether. When his plate is full he becomes a self absorbed monster who is bent on finishing it above all else. He growls at anything that comes close to his dish. And even booger's who no one but he can see.
--Once he found out a mouse was stealing pieces of his food when he wasn't looking and almost lost what was left of his little mind. He spent 2 day's waiting for the dang fool mouse before he caught it. When my wife came in the kitchen that morning he was so proud he dropped it at her feet.
--Jerry lee on the other is more than happy to share. And has on occasion with wondering cats or kittens who have taken a liking to dog food for some reason.
--The contrast in the 2 dogs personalities reminds me of some people I’ve known over the years. It's amazes me to no end sometimes how personality traits are so universal in their inhabitants....

THE BEST WE’LL MAKE DO… 07/10/15

--To slow down in a world spinning so fast shouldn’t be so hard, all it take’s is for one foot to get off from the gas.
--The rest will come while we coast for awhile, and Take a peek at what we’ve been missing.   When racing around we're barely chancing to speak.
--What a day that could be, if for just a few minutes we could get the lead out of our feet.
--Maybe someday, in the mean time the best we’ll do in this world spinning so fast under our lead filled feet….

THE FRIENDLY ADDITION…. 07/12/15

--Sometimes it kind of reminds me of an old movie I saw one time around here. The way animals are constantly popping up, staying for awhile and then moving on.
--Feeding time is hard because you never know who or what’s going to show up.
--One thing I’ll say about the dang fool bunch that hang around the house there a pretty friendly. And usually don’t mind an extra face....

FRESH AIR AND SUNSHINE.... 06/12/15

--There's something to be said for fresh air and sunshine. Sadly it seems we as people tend to forget it. Oh I suppose when were young the prospect of going outside filled us with wonder and excitement. So much so that twirling around in circles until we fell dizzy with glee laughing our fool heads off. Was considered a delight much to our mother's frustration of us getting dirty.
--And then we got older and fresh air and sunshine was something to be endured on our way to and from school. And maybe gym class a couple of times a week.
--The teen years well who and Sam hill remembers much about them. Expect there was so much going on we didn't need to twirl around to be dizzy it was a normal state.
--Adult hood well I guess for some reason we were back to enjoying a good old sunny day. It gave the children something to do. And you of course any excuse to put off the dang fool house work for a bit. With summer games, swimming, and cook outs everyone is loving summer.
--Yup there's nothing like a good old sunny day to make the old bones feel a tad better.....

WAFFLES AND THE SINGING CHRISTMAS DOLLS...12/24/15

--It really doesn’t take much to get waffles going. Turn the vacuum cleaner on and watch him start to go into banshee mode barking like a fool.
--Hang a Christmas clock that plays Christmas music every hour and listen to him howl every hour to the coral being played.
--Set a Christmas doll in the kitchen and he just about looses his little mind.
--For some reason the dang fool dog does not like anything different. About the only time he is quiet is when he is sleeping. But usually thats only for a little while because he'll wake up growling at thin air.
--I suppose it could be worse. At lest he's a some what happy little fellow most of the time. And is more than ready to let you know how happy he is to see you when you come back from being out and about.....

THE UNEXPECTED HOUSE GUESTS.... 07/13/15

--Sometimes things work in the weirdest ways. Your going along and having a pretty good day and a blessing shows up that makes your day just a little bit brighter. A couple of house guests who decide to stay.
--So it was with a couple of cats who were having a hard time where they were living. Being soft heart fools my wife and I welcomed the little fellows.
--After a rough couple of nights they figured out where everything was. And got into the flow of things quite nicely.
--Of course the whack a doodles had a tad of a problem with the whole thing But even they came around. I guess just go to show what a little patience and compromise can accomplish.....

LATE NIGHTS AND EARLY MORNING WAKE UPS.... 07/15/15

--For some reason late nights and early morning wake ups seem to go hand in hand. For the life of me I have never been able to figure out why.
--But nine times out of ten if your up late you can count on being woken up in the wee hours of the morning.
--Over the years I’ve tried to prepare for such things by having a prearranged safety net so to speak. One is a pot of cold coffee ready and waiting. Since I’ve never been able to handle drinking hot coffee it works out pretty well.
--Of course most of the time it's all in how you look at things that really count when it comes to the little things that happen in life. If you take every stumbling block as a major hurdle then your pretty much confining yourself to a bad day. Me I try to roll with what comes along and go with it.
--As a result I have more good days then bad days and to me that’s what counts.....

JUST GOT TO LOVE THE DRIBBLE FACTOR….06/29/15

--Most coffee maker’s have seen fit to provide a dribble factor into their pots. Oh you know the one, where if you don’t pour with mind numbing slowness you dribble half a pot on the counter before you know it. It sure is something to keep in mind when pouring that first cup of the day….

THERE'S KITTENS IN THE TREE'S....05/19/15

--Kittens can be a bunch of amusing bundles of joy when their not being just plain whack a doodle crazy. Everyday they seem to go out of their way to prove the point.
--Having a bunch of dimblub cats that hang around your house your proved with many hours of amusement. Providing you can handle the whack a doodle craziness that comes with it.
--Case in point one day taking the fool dogs out, I had a little bundle of joy [who my children had named Taz] jump off the roof of the house and land on my back. Then the little nut ran off with her little pals. Figuring I was safe I took waffles over to hook him to his run. While I was hooking him up that little whack a doodle tapped me on the back of the neck. I looked up to see the fool balanced on a branch loving it up. Knowing it was a long walk back to the house I patted the fool on the head and walked quickly to the house. Before the little fool blindsided me again.
--I guess when your a whack a doodle kitten anybody's fair game for your shenanigans....

FREE AT LAST SORT OF....05/29/15

--Going for a walk with Waffles and Jerry is ok if you don't mind being abandoned the first time you get out of sight of the house.
--It's seems the little fools come down with a bad case of we miss the mama the minute they get out of sight of the house.
--If I remember right I do believe all the dogs we've had over the years had the same problem.
--I guess they'd rather hang with the mama than walk around the dang fool yard. Go figure. Hansel on the other hand the minute you leave the front yard the dang fool cat follows you everywhere.....

CAT RADAR....07/07/15

--Over the years I’ve become quite amazed with cat's and their abilities. Not to say dog's are perplexing. They are in their own way's.
--But for some reason I’m still being a tad confused by those dang fool cat’s. Why I’m not sure, probably just old age.
--Coming home from the store is usually a treat especially if you have pet food in tow. Because you will find yourself with a parade of fury little fools from the car to the house.
--And quite to my surprise sometimes they always know when we have pet food in tow.
--It's almost enough to make you believe in cat radar….

TO MUCH OF A GOOD THING....07/09/15

--Gathered round the porch spread out enjoying the sun. They seem content in the warmth of the day. Upon closer look into their eye's you see the sadness that to much sun apparently brings. Even though they enjoy it's warmth after awhile they seem on over load and realize it's time to find some shade.
--Sort of makes you wonder if cats know something we don't know when it comes to much of a good thing.....

BEST FRIEND OR WORST ENEMY....07/09/15

--For some reason it's taken me awhile to realize your mind can be your best friend or your worst enemy.
--Oh there have been plenty of signs of over over the years. The nagging whispers in the wee hours of the night. When chasing sleep around the bed. Or the tiny little shivers of doubt, when things are going good. And yet you keep waiting for the other shoe to drop.
--It's a love hate relationship at times fighting for control. You have a plan everything going fine and then it starts with the games.
--My wife and children usually look at me with scratching heads. Because I’ll keep plugging along regardless of whatever shenanigans try to get in the way. For the simple reason once I start giving in I’m no use to my self or anyone else. It makes for interesting times. But for the most part the days get better. And that’s what count.....

WHERE'S THE MYSTERY?.....06/11/15

--It used to be there was a little mystery in life. Now it seems being open about anything and everything is the new norm. Different times I guess.
--Shopping with my daughters for school clothes one time. My daughters both grew tired of the whole process because what was the new fashion was seeing how much could be revealed in a single garment. They optioned for tea shirts bless their little hearts.
--Watching TV with the children was a contest to see if you were able to find something that didn't spend most of the program talking about stuff better left unmentioned in polite company. Today it seems anything again goes. And the more time spent circling the toilet bowl the better. My wife and I watch old TV show where they actually had somebody checking the script before they filmed it Let alone put the dang fool thing on TV.
--Movies are not much better it seems. Lately it seems you would hear better language in a crowd of sailor on shore leave. Again my wife and I watch mostly old stuff where you don’t need a shower after being submerged in the nuttiness.
--Don't get me wrong. I accept change as a part of life and most of the time it’s a good thing. It seems lately the mystery has sort of been taken away and anything is fair game when it comes to entertainment. Maybe it's just me but I always enjoyed a good mystery......

SOMETIMES THE LONG WAYS BEST... 04/09/15

--It looked like the perfect solution to an approaching problem. Continue to climb a steep hill or take what looked like a short cut that went around.
--Not being one who put a lot of thought into thing's. The shortcut was chosen.
--Of course looking back, it would of probably been worth the effort to see that the path over the hill was well worn. And the shortcut was overgrown with weeds and all sorts of brush. But hey you live and learn.
--And learn you did. Mostly you learned that sliding down a hill covered with all sorts of stuff wasn't the best way to spend an early morning. But it was a heck of a wake up. And of course there was the climb back up the hill to reflect on all you have learned. Mostly, sometimes the long way is best….

SOMETIMES CHEAPER IS NOT ALWAYS BETTER…. 03/09/15

--What can I say? The worst part is I’d probably do the whole thing the same way if I’d had the chance to do it over again. It just seemed like a good idea at the time.
--Oh I’m sure if they thought about it they’d do the same thing also.
--But of course all that doesn’t matter now. What matter’s is that when we go back I make sure and get the kind they like regardless of the price. Because if there’s one thing you don’t mess with and that’s what brand of coffee you buy.
--I guess it just goes to show some thing’s are really important, and that first cup in the morning is one of them. Well live and learn I guess…

SIGNING FOR THE WHOLE PACKAGE.... 02/19/15

--I often hear of the need for a little fun, for time to unwind when all the work is done. a little time to be alone, to just go away and be where no one will bother.
--The little thing's are not part of the package, that was signed up for on that special day.
--So please just try and understand it has to be this way. Because quite frankly I just don't want it any other way.
--I feel kind of sorry for you my friend when this attitude you do take. Because it's kind of like just eating the icing and throwing out the cake. No greater satisfaction have I ever found than getting up doing when I’d rather just sit down. There's something to be said for giving when your just about half dead. For finding that little spark and continuing to push on. It's all part of the package that I signed up for on that very special day so very long ago....

THE CAT MAGNET.... 05/30/15

--I like yard sales, garage sales and well just about any sales I guess. Going to sales with a cat magnet gets a tad annoying sometimes.
--If theirs a cat within a 100 yards the dang fool thing will be hanging round my wife. Loving her up. We went to one sale and a cat from next door to the sale was sitting in the window when we got there. It wasn't five minutes later the dang fool cat had managed to get out of the house and find his way over to my wife.
--It probably wouldn’t have been so bad but I noticed a county sheriffs car parked in the driveway. My wife's new pal was an off duty cop's cat. It took awhile but my wife finally got it through the dang fool cats head to go back home.
--Usually when we leave a sale I have a habit of checking the backseat. Just to make sure we don't have any cat hitchhikers.....

THE DANCING SEAGULLS.... 04/10/15

--One day while mopping the kitchen I happened to glance out the window and spied a curious sight. What I first thought was a crow turned out to be two seagulls dancing on the phone wire that runs in front of our house.
--After a little while they flew down to the apple tree in front of our house still bobbing to their own beat.
--The cats that hang around outside were totally mesmerized by the whole thing. Following their every move. Of course the seagulls stayed just out of reach of the cats. And when one brave cat tried to climb an apple tree. They flew back up to the phone wire.
--This went on for quite awhile before the seagulls finally flew off. And the cats well they went back to their previous game of hanging around the house sunning themselves. Every once in awhile glancing up to the sky. Makes you wonder I guess....

THE DAY JERRY LEE GOT EVICTED.... 04/07/15

--One day while out doing yard work, mostly mowing and what not. I came up to the house to find Jerry lee whining outside her dog house.
--I asked her what was up and she just kept starring at her house whimpering. being kind of curious I bent down to look inside . Her house was filled with bunnies. When my shadow fell across the entrance bugs came out a thumping and hopping to meet me. It seems poor Jerry had been evicted by the bunnies.
--Well I made Jerry another house and tried to gather the bunnies up to move them to their own house. But this proved to be pointless because as soon as I turned my back bugs and the mama bunny moved them back to Jerry's house.
--Finally a compromise was reached the bunnies took over Jerry's old house and Jerry stayed in her new house. Although she wasn't happy about the whole thing....

RESITING THE URGE.... 07/06/15

--This that and the other thing and usually standing by waiting patiently for days games to begin. But like everyday when that first moment before wakefulness arrives there are choices to be made and decisions to make.
--Oh it's the same old tired game of why won't you play. Sometimes it’s easy and sometimes it's hard. Especially after a night of rolling around trying to find that place where sleep can be found.
--But like everything else the decision is ours. Good day or bad day. it’s not really a question but a frame of mind I’m finding as the years begin to take there toll.
--My wife usually looks at me as I hobble out of bed to face the day. With a half formed smile biting back curse's and humming a tune of my own making. Because as far as I’m concerned I’ll have a good day one way or another.
--That's not to say there are not a few bad moment, but like everything else it's all in how you look at it.
--The biggest problem is usually resisting the urge to just say the heck with it. And give in to the feeling of frustration of it all......

DIM BLUB CATS IN THE MORNING…. 05/18/15

--Sitting on the porch drinking my morning cup of coffee with dim blub cats who hang around our house is always good for a few laughs and chuckles. I guess that’s why I do it.
--They've all pretty much divided into groups. And have their own little pals they hang with.
--It's kind of fun to watch when a mommy will try to give a sleeping baby a bath. Because even while sleeping the little fella with fight with all his heart.
--Or when a baby will try to play with a sleeping mommy, only to find out that after a certain time patience wears a little thin. The end result will either be a unwanted bath or a swat. Like I said it usually quite lively drinking coffee with a bunch of dim blub cats….

WINDOW DRESSING....06/16/15

--My wife think's I’m a little strange when I get excited because a store has gone out of there way to dress up there windows a bit. Either with a preview of what's on sale or with what every charity there supporting at the moment. Or some good old fashion community event's.
--It seems lately not to many places bother. Usually you'll see a sign or two but there just reminders that in order to keep prices down they have installed cameras all over the place. Sometimes shopping takes on a whole new meaning I guess. Especially when the prices that are supposed to be kept down are in some other store.
--Holidays are fun because it seems like the only time stores put much effort into dressing up there windows. But then again it gets kind of confusing when the store's calendar and the rest of the world’s calendar are a little off. But hey at least there trying I guess.
--Looking through the flyer's for up coming sales was fun for awhile. Until most store's apparently figure why bother sending out flyer when there really wasn't any place else to shop. But I guess it could be worse at least they usually have a few by the door when you get there.
--So when I happen across a store that puts a little effort into dressing up their windows I get a little excited. My wife usually hits the parking lot at a fairly good clip because she knows what is going to happen when I eventually hobble in. For some reason I just love pointing out those old dang fool low prices when I can find them......

ACCOMMODATING LITTLE PEST'S.... 05/22/15

--Even though having a house full of pot licking little freaks for cat's is a pain in the neck. It's also a good thing because it keeps you from getting lazy about cleaning up around the place.
--I remind myself of that fact endlessly some times when I’m doing a cleanup in the kitchen before leaving.
--Maybe it's a sign of the cat food were forced to buy. But for some dang fool reason this bunch prefers people food.
--I often wondered what they'd do if I just fixed them a plate. And saved myself the endless CSI cleanup.....

THE FAVORITE SPOT…. 02/20/15

--On the other side of the room in the middle of the floor is where he likes to lay.
--He waits until everyone is asleep and tucked in each night, and then he wonder’s over and stretches in his favorite spot where he likes to lay,
--I never gave it much thought, and didn’t think it strange.
--Until I watched him get up and go and check on all the little ones. It seemed his favorite spot was where he could keep a eye on all of us while we were asleep…

SOMETIMES A BIGGER PUSH IS NEEDED…. 03/12/15

--On the downward slide is sometimes where you find your best inspiration.
--Sometimes a emergency provides the boost needed to access the level where creativity is stored.
--Don’t ask me why. Because after all these years I still don’t understand it. But it’s usually when I’m standing up to my but in muck and mire, that a creative solution will pop up and help me fix the problem.
--Maybe it’s just that a extra spark is needed sometimes to get the creative gene going. Or the fact that having a hard head it take’s a bigger push. Of course my wife has her view on the subject. And perhaps she’s right. Come to think of it she usually is ….

STEALTH MODE…. 03/16/15

--Impossible to archive when half awake, even though you do try.
--Keeping your eyes only on the prize, you navigate though whatever is waiting.
--It’s not the best policy but you really can’t help yourself you see.
--Whatever is waiting isn’t really going anywhere, and it doesn’t do any good to start your day in total despair….

THE APPLIANCES REBEL.... 04/09/15

--Every once in awhile I feel like I’ve been trapped in a bad b movie plot. Everything’s going fine then wham o the appliance's start with their shenanigans.
--Sometimes it's computers, or VCR’S or DVD players, or coffee pots. It doesn't really matter but sooner or later they all seem to have to push the boundaries.
--The worst part is it's usually something simple. It's just having to take the time to try and figure out what in Sam hill it is. Over the years we've had some real bi polar appliance in our house. From VCR’S that liked to shoot the tape when ejecting, to DVD player's that liked to play Frisbee half way through a movie.
--I often wondered if the extended warranty they offer when you check out cover’s bi-polar dysfunction. Now it’s the microwave wanting to run when you open the door. How is that for rebelling? ....
