WAITING FOR A COOKOUT....

--You know it time for a cookout when everyone and his brothers seems to be doing just that when your out and about, the smell just about drives you out of your mind.
--Of course the cats reaffirm this because they run to the grill in expectation every time you walk by. The wife starts eyeing grill along with the dang fool cats. And waffles well he just keep eyeing my wife making sure she doesn’t sneak out without him.
--But you really know it's time to cookout when the dang fool children start mentioning how good the food was at the last cookout.....

THE FIRST WAVE....

--After being held prisoner by mother nature for the winter season any excuse to be outside is fine by me.
--Of course the first wave of heat blowing across the lawn can be a pain. But the old maple provides plenty of shade to combat it.
--Now if I can convince the children of the pleasures of a little fresh air it might be nice. But unfortunately as long as there electric do dad's work that seems to be a dream yet to be filled.....

RESTING EASY....

--Sometimes I can’t help but marvel at the ability of animals to take a nap just about any where. Usually it seems like the weirder the better.
--Squash likes to sleep in the old apple tree next to the driveway. The other day he was taking a nap hugging a stuffed snake my wife hung a few days earlier. Waffles likes to take his nap usually on or near my feet . Which makes it hard to move around. Gandalf he likes his window, or maybe my chair . Usually you can find him in either place. Puffy he usually sleeps any where he can let his head hang down.
--And as for me well unlike the other whack a doodles I have to have a big comfortable couch.......

CHARMING LITTLE STORES....

--Say what you will I like charming little stories, not to complicated and no deep intrigue. Just a simple story where the out come is sort of produced in the title.
--I figure life's hard enough and if I'm going to sit down and read a book or watch a movie I want to enjoy the dang fool thing . Not end up with a sleepless night worrying about thing's that go bump in the night.
--Now don't get me wrong a little intrigue in nice I suppose. But it's just not for me when I want to sit down and relax a bit.....

CLEANING UP THE PICTURE...

--There's nothing worse than trying to look out a smuggled window, or trying to watch a smuggled TV. And don't get me started on computer screens.
--It's seems some day’s I spend most of my time cleaning and wiping . It's almost as bad as when I had four toddlers running around the house.
--But I suppose it could be worse I could still have four toddlers running around the house . instead of three young adults who still haven't figured out how to clean up after themselves.
--To be honest the have gotten a lot better, and the dang fool windows well let's just say I like to know what in Sam Hill I'm looking at.....

CRAZY DAYS....

--I suppose if I had my choice I'd take a crazy day over a normal one. but that's just me, I kind of like free for all nature of a crazy day.
--Of course my wife and children are never to impressed with me when we're in the middle of a crazy day and I start humming round and round the mulberry bush.
--But I figure life's to short, you might just as well enjoy them when the come....

IT'S BEEN SUCH ALONG TIME....

--It seems no matter how you measure time if your not watching it has a habit of sneaking up on you.
--Getting caught up in all the day to day shenanigans, just trying to make it through. before you quite realize it more time has passed and your wondering where it flew to.
--When you do pause for a bit, just to catch a breath or two. you slowly start to realize there’s a few things you forgot to do.
--You take out our trusty list and throw a few more things down. and vow I’ll get to them for sure now. and have ever intention of following through.
--But like everything your sure to miss a few.
--It seems something’s should wait a bit, and something’s there’s no reason to, other than it's what you usually do.
--Maybe what really needs to happen is you need to rearrange a few things. and take care . before time catches up to you....

WALKING WITH WATER....

--There doesn't seem to be any way  to walk carrying a milk jug filled with water without getting wet,. at least in my case it seems.
--The old blueberries were looking a little worse for the wear so we decided to carry some water out to them.
--Of course it probably would of worked better if I wasn't hobbling along on a dang fool cane . But the bath was kind of refreshing I suppose....

NICE AND EASY....

-Going along at a good pace it is important to avoid a case of the doldrums.
--Usually it's when I have no purpose in mind is when I find myself hip deep in muck and mire and the doldrums as a constant passenger.
--Of course getting sidetracked is really easy to do when you forget to keep an eye on the big picture.
--That’s why I like keep things simple and nice and easy....

BAR-B-Q SHUFFLE....

--Light a fire in a grill and you'd be amazed at the kind of reception you get.
--Around our house this usually entails being chaperoned by the cats who hang around. listening to the chattering of a few blackbirds, and fighting with the dang fool dogs going back and forth.
--Of course having eyes in the back of your head is a must. because there’s always one cat who thinks he can walk on fire.
--Needless to say you definitely get your exercise just lighting a dang fool fire. The real fun is when you bring the meat out....

YARD SALE WAGGLES....

--Every year we go through the torture of having a yard sale. It drives every one crazy and we swear it'll be the last. But of course we always do it again. I guess were gluttons when it comes to having that much fun.
--For the life of me I really don't know why. It just seems to be something we need to do each year.
--Oh sure we've made more room in our little crowed house, and the clutter has gotten down to a manageable level. But boy what a pain.
--Although meeting new people is always a plus, and I really do love to chit chat as my wife is fond of pointing out.
-- I suppose it could be worse, and there is that extra room to think about.....

GOOD MORNING CHATTER....

--The chatter of birds has been the one thing missing form our little slice of heaven. It's not that we haven’t had a few here and there. But they've been far and wide.
--Lately though it seems they've taken to visiting on a regular basics. And it's been kind of nice.
--Of course the neighbor have a few chickens and turkey and they do raise a ruckus daily . But it's not the same as morning flinch and the palls he's brought around.
-- Like everything I suppose you need to find your blessing where you can I guess....

PRETTY LITTLE WEEDS....

--I know there weeds but the sure are pretty. Riding along the roads they give the  sides a bluish tint that sort of brightens the day a bit.
--Now that most of the yards are brown from lack of rain, and over mowing there time has come. It's really a sight.
--I know there weeds, as my wife keeps reminding me. But they make a welcome relief to the endless sea of green.
--Besides even weeds deserve there day in the sun . I guess there a lesson in there somewhere.....

JINGLE BELL MIX UP....

--I like Christmas songs, they have that something special that just makes the day go just right. That being said hearing Christmas songs in the middle of one of the hottest July's I can remember was just a tad offsetting . I don't know if it was somebody's idea of a joke. but it sure my day a little brighter.
--of course a lot of the people shopping weren't to impressed.
--I guess you can't please everybody .....

OVERCAST AND CLOUDY....

--There's something about a overcast and cloudy day, that just sucks the life right out of you. It's almost as if your body knows what the weathers going to be before you wake up. Because once your feet hit the floor it's like trying to walk through sludge.
---And sure enough when you finally work up gumption to peek out the window those dang fool clouds are just a hanging there, with a presumption of how the days going to be.
--Of course in the spirit of oh well it's really up to us how the dang fool days going to be. And a few clouds just means we have to work a little harder at having a good one.
--To be honest I suppose the dang fool grass could use a break from being baked ,and the trees could use a good pick me up ......

Tuesday, July 26, 2016

WINDOW WATCHING....

--It seems those little panes of glass hold such a fascination for the cats that they can't help but stare out of them.
--Bug eyes spends most of the day going from window to window just gazing out at the yard.
--And Gandalf well he's gotten so he spends most of the day in the dang fool window . unless of course he's Lying in my chair . But that's another story .
--I can't say as I blame them really I even find myself starring out from time to time at my Serenity tree....

SHAKING THE BOAT.....

--Every once in awhile it's good to shake things up a bit. I guess it keeps us from getting complacent and forgetting the big picture. At lest that’s probably the thought process behind the whole shaking the boat ploy.
--I know I have a tendency to forget the big picture from time, so a good placed storm has a cleansing effect. and of course straighten things out a bit afterwards.
--Like everything with a bit of patience things usually get back on track. Of course having a few life preservers  helps too......

LOOKING FOR THE RIGHT ONE....

--as a rule I really hate shopping for appliances. only because nothing seems to last for very long. It seems like every six months your back in the dang fool trenches looking again.
--usually when the dang fool appliances start acting up it has a tendency to send the whole house into a tizzy. which is a pain in the neck figuring we usually lean to the whack a doodle side of even the minutest things.
--but with a little patience we find what were looking for....

SIZE MATTER'S.....

--As usual when out and about shopping for this and that, it seems you can't help but stumble over another shrinking package.
--I’m sure somebody some where is having a jolly good time with these shenanigans. Staying up late trying to figure out what in Sam hill else they cant shrink.
--It's getting so now it seems to be a constant battle to keep the jingle from being double dipped out of our pockets.
--But with patience and of course a watchful eye it is possible to win. Keeping in mind of course size really does matter.....

WERE UPGRADING....

--Were upgrading has to be two of my lest favorite words. Usually what it means is a giant pain in my neck.
--When it comes to computers it usually means undoing what ever the spam Hill they did. And hopefully that solves the dang fool problem.
--Now with phones it seems that because of the upgrade you have to run out and buy a new dang fool phone. Which is a real pain in the neck because it took me forever to learn how to use the last one.
--Of course I suppose it could be worse, but for now I'll just thank the good lord that the worse is over for now.
--At lest until the next batch of computer upgrades that is.....

NEW PHONE JITTERS .....

--Having to buy a new phone because of a network upgrade is a pain in the neck Especially when it seems there's a ton to choose from. Trying to find a phone that's simple and won't give the old brain pan quivers is darn near impossible.
--Of course then the fun really begins when you get the dang fool thing home, and try  to figure out how to use the dang fool thing.
--The little Manuel is written with print that's so small you need a dang fool magnifying glass.
--But like everything with patience and of course a bottle aspirin you finally figure out how to use the dang fool thing 2 hours later......

FROSTY MORNINGS.....

--I never thought I would say I missed those old frosty mornings where it's so nippy you get the shivers just thinking about going outside. Of course that was before the old 70's and 80's late at night, and close to 90's during the day.
-- Now even though I'm enjoying all this heat, it does make me a little nostalgic for those old frosty mornings.
--I suppose in just a few months I'll be looking forward to a nice blistering hot summer.
--But in the mean time I'm just going to keep soaking up the heat and saying a little whisper to those frosty mornings,” I’ll be seeing you in a bit"......

INSIDE OUT....

--After such a dang fool long winter I've gotten so I like to be outside . Even if it hot enough that our eye balls sweet constantly. And after five minutes you like a giant sponge leaking water.
--My wife usually follows me out along with her little buddy waffles right on her heals.
--But of course after a few hours the a/c running in the kitchen will call us back in . because quite frankly it's just to dang hot . Even sitting under the old maple tree.
--The children hang in their rooms the cool a/c just a chugging away .Unless of course the electric goes out and then their more than happy to come out and join their parents getting their brains cooked under the old maple tree.
--After awhile you start feel like have been wrung inside out.....

LOOK AT ME...

--For some reason there always seems to be a attention seeker in every bunch of cats that gather around our house.
--With this batch the rule seems to have fallen to buddy. No matter where  you go buddy will follow and try to get your attention by doing some of the most whack a doodle things.
--As a whole, I really do not mind. Except of course when the little fool gets under my feet when I am trying to walk.
--but he is a lovable little whack a doodle, and I guess that's what counts the most......

TO HOT TO FLY...

--I had a feeling  it was hot when the wave of hot air just about knocked me out of my shoes, when I opened the front door to go outside.
--Things were confirmed when I noticed the cats all sprawled out around the  yard.
--But what was the real kicker you might ask? well when I looked out in the  yard and saw a bunch of birds hoping across the dang fool thing, I kind of figured it must be to hot to fly....

BANANAS IN THE MORNING....

-As a rule I tend to stay away from bananas. They just never really sparked my interest when it come to something to eat. The universe finds a way to introduce you to things the hard way it seems, especially as you get older.
--My wife has taken to reminding me that bananas are just great for a old pink hat wearing dim bulb, and I should start eating them.
--Now don't get me wrong but in order to keep the peace I've started eating the dang fool things. I still don't care for the dang fool things but I figure at my age I can use all the help I can get....

A QUESTION OF TIME....

-- As a rule I'm not to impressed with waiting in lines . I've never had very much patience. it's something I've had to work on over the years. But of course still have a long was to go.
--As usual the universe makes sure we have plenty of opportunities to learn our lessons well. Being a father of four children I've had more than my share of waiting in lines. and the funny thing is I really don't think as I've gotten older it's gotten any easier.
--my wife of course has the patience of a Tibetan monk. probably because she's had to live with some of my shenanigans over the years.
--I guess it could be worse at lest were not waiting at doctors office's any more....

BAT 'S IN THE MORNING....

--There's a lot to be said for early morning walks . It's usually quiet, the air has a freshness to that you can almost taste. It’s probably why I do more than my share of walking about in the wee hours of the morning.
--Of course there are a few drawback's. Whack a doodle cats, running about . dogs that howl at the moon and other various night life . From deer, to wild turkey's, and of course a raccoon and possum or two. And now I guess I can add bat’s to the mix.
--As if life wasn't full enough at this whack a doodle place we call home now the universe has seen fit to add another whack a doodle to the mix. It's almost enough to make a fella stop walking about in the wee hours of the morning.....

BLUEBERRIES IN THE MORNING....

--Weeding blueberries is a bit of a pain but well worth it when the berries come. I have to keep reminding myself of the don't  fact as I crawl across the lawn dragging my dang fool cane.
--Of course having tons of tiny grasshoppers hopping about makes it a real delight . And don't get me started on the dang fool cat's who seem to think it's play time and keep getting in the way.
--But like I said as long as I keep my eye on the prize, it's a endurable situation . I mean it is blueberries after all.....

FULL MOON MIX UP....

--I like a full moon it's kind of peaceful in my book. And you really can't beat the lighting..
--Of course trying to sit outside with a bunch of dim bulb cats can be a pain in the neck some times . Especially when they start their dang fool shenanigans.
--But it could be worse I suppose. At least they don't start howling at the moon like waffles.
--My wife  has even joined me on my little moon light walks on occasion . Which she is more than happy to point out is just a tad romantic. So I guess it's a two for, even if you have to deal with a bunch of dim bulbs, and a howling whack a doodle....

WAFFLES AND THE DEER....

--Poor waffles is finding it really trying going outside, especially with me on my morning walks. I can't say as I really blame him, what with the dang fool cats, and other boogers just waiting to scare the poor fella.
--The other day when we were out walking about there were a couple of deer sleeping next to the grapes . When they heard waffles and me coming they went whack a doodle crazy and split. Poor waffles just about  had a stroke.
--I had to pick the little fool up and carry him back to the house.  Which I might add was a real pain while trying to use a cane.
--We made it back to the house and I spent sometime calming the little fool down under the old maple tree. Of course that was when waffles old buddy the giant toad showed up and I had to start all over again.
--Now when I get ready to go out for a walk waffles jumps in his bed and covers up with his blanket. I can't say as I blame the little fool, and of course it's not like I've lacking for walk about buddies, what with the dim bulb whack a doodle cats running around.....

RED TAG, YELLOW TAG, NO TAG'S....

--Shopping can be a real pain in the neck trying to figure out all the dang fool tag's. And God forbid something doesn't have a tag because it's darn near impossible to find the dang fool thing.
--Shopping in general has turned in contest that will boggle your mind if you don't keep our eye on the ball. Which is something nobody can afford in this day and age…

SHADOWS ON THE WALL....

--Chasing the shade on a hot summer day seems to be a full time occupation.
-Squash Buddy and Puffy were playing shadow chase. Which is a game the little dim blues seem quite fond of playing .
--I guess what it boils down to is find a shadow and keep batting it until something else gets your attention.
--I always figured cats were a little goofy, with some of their shenanigans. I guess fun is where you find it. if your a cat that is....

Wednesday, July 20, 2016

WHERE'S YOUR MAMA....

--With the amount of cats that hang around our house it's not unusual to find tiny kittens running around looking for it‘s mama.
--What is unusual is when you can't find the mama . Then it usually falls to Peek to round up the little one and keep  a eye on it until the dim bulb mama returns.
--It's a job she doesn't seem to mind , that and being the peacekeepers seems to be her full time occupation.
--I guess we all need a helping hand from time to time....

PARKING LOT SHOWER....

--Shopping can be fun unless our held hostage buy a sudden shower. Which I suppose isn't really to bad except in the course of a couple of seconds the windows ,fog, up and the humidity starts to get to you.
--Oh and let's forget the whole running water things because as soon as it's starts raining of course you have to go to the bathroom.
--But I suppose it could be worse you could be trapped in the dang fool stores entrance trying  to figure out how in Sam Hill your going to get to your car.....

OLD RELIABLE ...

--Sometimes it's nice to have that one thing that puts everything in perspective .
It makes the wrinkles in a day just smooth right out, so you can carry on.
--Myself I like to keep my options open. because life's hard enough and any thing that makes it a little easier is a two for in my book.
--Of course a good sun rise, and sunset usually works wonders for me.....

Tuesday, July 19, 2016

JUST ONE OF THOSE THING'S.....

--Early morning mumbles with dim bulbs can be a pain in the neck. But like everything it's just one of the thing you have to expect when you turn the porch light on.
--Usually when I go out for a walk in the morning I leave the dang fool porch light off because the dang fool cat's go whack a doodle crazy and start running about.
--Sure it makes it a little hard to get about without a light . But it's a lot easier than tripping over a bunch of cats . And of course there's usually enough moonlight to see by.
--Like a lot of things I guess you just have to learn to accept things . There's probably a lesson in there some place.....

BREAKFAST FOR DINNER....

-Every once in awhile we like to have breakfast for dinner. Pancakes, Eggs, Bacon and French toast of course.
--It makes for a little breakup from the same old same old. Which is kind of nice because sometimes the same old same can sure as Sam Hill take the spice out of life.
--And of course any excuse to have bacon is a two for in  my book . About the only thing that could make it better is if you threw brownies and blue berries into the mix . Which every once in awhile my wife does bless Her little heart....

BOOM BOOM'S IN THE NIGHT....

--Along with the many other things waffles doesn't like thunder is one of them.
The little whack a doodle has gotten so good he usually starts howling five minutes before it starts.
--I suppose it wouldn't be so bad, except in the course of a year we do get a lot of rain which usually has a lot of thunder and lighting attached.
--Usually I just reassure the little whack a doodle and he's fine. Some night I have had to put the little wing nut on my lap and ride out the storm together.
--I suppose it could be worse ,least he's a tiny little whack a doodle....

WHEN WORDS WON'T COME....

--Sometimes when you can't find the words to say what your feeling I fall back to a good old hug.
--There's something about the gesture that say’s everything that needs to be said. without the distraction of words.
--Over the years we've used it allot in our house. From group hugs, to just a good morning greeting.
--There's allot of power in such a simple gesture. Make’s you wonder what would happen if people tried it instead yammering on about things that could be solved with just a simple hug or two.....

WAFFLES AND THE EARLY MORNING WALK....

-I love a star light filled night . Not really a full but just as good as far as I concerned.
--Of course waffles isn't really to impressed with anything having to do with going outside after dark, so I put him on his leash when I take him out with me.
--Everything is usually fine until buddy and squash decide to scare the living day light's out of us while we walking in the yard.
--Needless to say waffles usually gives me a look that say’s see I told you there were boogers out here.
--I guess little dog's do know what their taking about once in awhile.....

THE MEMORY SPOOL.....

--Like a giant ball of wrapped up twine, it’ll sometimes unwrap and go off for a stroll on it's own. leaving you chasing the dang fool ball before it totally unwinds.
--I suppose it could be said that chasing the dang fool thing every once in awhile is  a good thing. Sort of keeps the old Brain pan clear of the little dust bunnies that collect for time to time.
--My self I think the whole thing is a giant pain in the neck. but unfortunately that's the way it is I guess.
--I suppose it could be worse the dang fool ball could totally unwind . But for some reason I have a feeling it's never ending.....

Sunday, July 17, 2016

THE LITTLE WALK....

--Usually while I'm waiting for the coffee to kick in I'll go out with waffles for a  little walk. I got to give the little fool credit he's gotten a lot better . He makes it to the backyard before he goes running back to the house.
--Now if it was my wife he'd follow her any where. Me he just looks at and runs back to the house.
--The cats are a different story . They not only follow me but constantly try to trip my clumsy butt buy running back and forth in front of me.
--I guess it could worse, but quite frankly I don't see how. A smart fellow would hang up the whole walking outside thing . But then again I've never been known as the brightest candle in the box.....

THE AMAZING LITTLE CLOUD BURST.....

--Before the little drizzle it was so hot and humid it felt like being slowly crushed by a blanket of super heated air.
--Afterwards the temp dropped so far you could actually walk  with out sweating through your shirt. Even the cats were happy and running about.
--I guess little blessing come in all shapes and sizes......

Saturday, July 16, 2016

SQUASH AND THE CHERRY THIEF ......

--Now that the cherry tree is starting to have a few cherries, squash has been has been spending most of his time up in the dang fool tree waiting for the crow who comes around ever year for a cherry snack.
--I really wouldn’t mind but the little whack a doodle has a habit of dropping down on my shoulder’s when I happen to walk by the dang fool tree. Needles to say this appears to be a new game the little whack a doodle has come up with, because he’s be doing in for awhile now.
--I suppose I could be worse, I just wish I could one of the little whack a doodles to patrol my blue berries….

THE ADVENTURE'S OF I DON'T KNOW....

--Raising four children was hard at times but also filled unbelievable moments of pure joy. One of the mysteries we have yet to solve is a  little darling known as I don't know.
--I'm not sure where in Sam Hill the little fellow came from, I guess he followed us home from the hospital.
--Of course it wasn't until the children started walking and running about that he began to show his true colors. Ever time something happened the blame fell square on I don't knows shoulder's.
--For awhile my wife and I thought we had a extra child running around the house.
--Then one day the little fellow struck out on his own . In a way we were sorry to see him go. But I guess it was time.
--Of course just in case we'll leave the light on for the little fellow you just don‘t know when I don’t know might stop for a visit.....

Friday, July 15, 2016

GREEN APPLE MIX UP....

--The old apple tree next to the driveway is a real treat. Every year it gives a large supply of apples. Unfortunately for every on we pick about five or six of the little fellows fall off the dang fool tree . It wouldn't be so bad but it's kind of a pain in the neck trying to walk without slipping on all the apples.
--Then of course there's all the bees the dang fool fallen apples attract .
--It could be worse I suppose. and the cats do love batting the fallen apples  around . I just wish they 'd bat them  where I didn't have to walk.....

LITTLE BITS OF FUN....

--I guess everybody probably has there own definition of fun . Myself I try to keep my options open. Because quite frankly I've found that just about anything can be fun . It's more or less on how you look at it.
--My wife and children think I going of into whack a doodle land when I start raving about how much fun certain thing's can be . But what can I say in old days we pretty much had to make our own fun.
--Slowly they've come to terms, with a few thing's and hopefully over time they'll see just what in Sam Hill I'm talking about.
--In the mean time I'll keep dancing with the broom when I sweep the floor, and singing weird songs while I work along......

THE WONDERS OF A GOOD STEW..

--Trying to get people to eat vegetables is tricky. They each seem to have their favorite . and it's usually limited to two.
--But throw it in a pot and you can go for broke . Which I might add we do of course.
--The little darlings just go crazy for a good stew .Myself I think it's just great because quite frankly I like a few more vegetable than just corn and green beans......

SUNSET ON A RAINY DAY ....

--The sunset on a rain day is kind of nice watching the mist mix with fading color's can be a real delight.
--Of course waffles wasn't to impressed. And the dang fool cat's were preoccupied chasing each other.
--Now if I could just get everyone else to come out and take a peek it would be nice......

Wednesday, July 13, 2016

A LITTLE BIT OF RAIN....

--I really don't mind the rain ,most of the time . Not so much when I'm standing out in it thing to feed a bunch of whack a doodle cats . who think running back and forth in front of you will help walk quicker.
--Of course I will have to say it was quite refreshing . I just wish I'd remembered my dang fool coat when I left the house.....

HOLIDAY MIX UP....

-For the life of me I don't know why but I spent the better part of the day humming and singing holiday songs. Maybe it's because I miss the holidays season where everyone seems more happy .
--Now my wife wasn't to impressed but I will say she has gotten used to my shenanigans.
--The weather was a tad warm and overcast, but it felt about right with a few holiday tunes in the air. It really is amazing what a little music does for a day .......

LITTLE STAR'S AND LIGHTING-BUGS....

--On a clear night the star's fill the sky, like little sparkling diamonds just a twinkling away .
--The yard is filled with hundreds of twinkling lighting bug's just a fluttering away .
--Of course it brings back memories of childhood years . Running around catching the little darling in hopes the provide enough light to read by .
--Much to my disappointment they did not of course .Kind of hard to get the little fellows to blink at the same time.....

COOL SUMMER BREEZE....

--I guess my to favorite times to sit outside are late at night and early in the morning.
--It seems you can all midst smell the freshness in the air . Unless of course the wind shifts and then you can smell the farmer's pooh tank.
--But otherwise it's pretty nice. Especially if there's a cool summer breeze blowing across the yard....

Monday, July 11, 2016

PATCHES OF GREEN MIXED WITH BROWN.....

--Well it's nice to see that the patches of green are out numbering the patches of brown . WE SURE NEEDED THE RAIN.
--Of course in a normal yard this would be OK . In the whack a doodle yard not so much.  I swear the grass has broken six inches in the last two days.
--My wife says it's all in my head . But then again what would expect in the house of whack a doodle….

THE OLD CROW....

--Usually I see him sitting on the phone wire that runs in front of the house . Big black and chattering away .
--Ii wouldn't be worth mentioning but the dang fool has been hanging around for years.
--my wife just shacks her head when I start about the old fool. She says it's probably not even the same crow and she might be right she usually is.
--But that doesn’t explain why the dang fool follows me around just a chattering away….

Sunday, July 10, 2016

SACKED OUT....

--Watching a bunch of cats sacked out all over the yard, is kind of strange. Simply because they don't seem to care where they plop.
--I appreciate a nap my self from time to time. But I do show a certain restraint and confine it to a couch.
--Now I really don't mind the dang fools napping I just wish it wasn't all over the dang place . It's like a maze try trying to walk around .And to honest I'm ready not that coordinated.
--But I guess it could be worse I could take to napping at the picnic table and end up with lap full of cats....

CERTIFIED DIM BLUB'S.....

--Cat's are weird . They find the craziest thing's and make a game out of it . Sort of like toddlers I guess.
--Squash and Buddy were chasing a white butterfly and then started chasing each other for no reason.
--I really wouldn't of mind but the dang fool's ran across the table and then jumped up into the tree.
--Which probably wouldn't have been bad but they knocked a bunch of weird spiders loose falling down on my head.
--Needless say it put a damper on sitting under the maple tree for awhile....

RAINDROPS AND RAINBOWS....

-My wife finally convinced me to sit out with her in the rain. She's got a thing for rain . Myself I think it's kind of goofy. But I humored her just the same.
--And I have to admit it was kind of nice sitting under the old maple . Listening to the raindrops trying to fight through leaves to bounce of my head.
--Of course the rainbow was nice to . It's amazing what you can see if you give it a chance. I guess maybe there's a lesson in there somewhere......

THE GARBAGE MAN COMETH....

-Every week we go through the growling and barking at ever sound that reaches waffles ears.
--Of course it's all a prelude to the real villain the garbage man . For some dang fool reason waffles doesn't like the sound of his truck.
--It must be nice to have such sensitive ears . Myself I wouldn't know my wife swears up and down I'm going deaf.
--Waffles being who he is has a list of things that really get his goat. From grasshoppers, to falling leaves. But he really has a passion for that dang fool garage man......

A LITTLE BIT....

--Sometimes a little bit goes a long way's. For some reason that little phase seems to stick in my head when dealing with those things that have a tendency to throw a good day for a loop.
--Don't get me wrong I've never been much of a jump threw hoops kind of guy . In fact you could say I've gone out of my way to stay as far as I could from the whole hoop jumping game.
--Sometimes you have to jump threw those dang fool thing's just to keep the peace.
--when that happens a few little saying seem to help....

A QUESTION OF DEGREES....

--If given a choice between sitting in a ac cooled house or outside I usually choose outside. Especially as I get older because the dang fool ac starts more aches and pain than it's worth as far as I’m concerned.
--Unfortunately the wife and children fail to understand the whole dilemma because usually I walk around with two sets of long johns on and a sweater even in the summer.
--Don't get me wrong I like a cool room just not one where you can hang meat.
--So rather than dive into the whole thing I usually opt to spend the daylight hours outside in the warm summer day. Even when it’s hot enough to smoke meat….
