--I can't say I didn't expect the sudden down turn in the weather. Because in a way I did.
--The nice warm days were a blessing after such a long winter but I had a feeling we were not quite done.
--Of course my wife and children were a little amazed when I didn't put my cold weather clothes up for the duration.
--But like all things they learned when they were running around searching for warm clothes. I on the other hard was prepared.
--Maybe next time they'll listen. But I doubt it. Their whack a doodle ness is what makes them special....

UNEASY RELATIONSHIP.....
--Cats are amazing. they have a tendency to forgive the little things and form a uneasy relationship with there peers. how they do it has always perplexed me. But they do.
--It sort of makes you wonder a bit if there's a lesson in there somewhere.
--I know some people can carry a grudge forever. Even when 9 times out of 10 they've probably forgotten what in Sam hill they were mad about in the first place.
--Myself I try to forgive and forget. Life’s to short to walk around mad at the world.
--There’s so many bright spots out there, it just seems like a waste of time being so preoccupied with a chip on your shoulder....

THE LONG WALK......
--It's amazing how things can turn around in the lest expected ways. The out come some times can be rather nice.
--While walking in the yard the other day, my dang fool knee happened to go out on me and I ended up taking a unexpected rest in the yard.
--Of course the whole thing was rather of putting until I calmed down and started looking around at all the little things. It was then that I noticed the little blessing that apparently I was missing.
--Now of course when I’m out and about in the yard I carry my dang fool cane in my back pocket. And of course keep my eyes open.
--It really is amazing what you can see if you take the time.....

I THINK I CAN....
--Watching a cat chase a bird is kind of sad, but like always it seems sometimes all you can do is watch and hope for the best.
--I like cats don't get me wrong. I just wish they'd leave the dang fool birds alone. I mean it is nice to hear there chipping and watch them flying about.
--Most of the cats who hang round our house could care less about birds or anything besides their next dinner.
--Of course there's always one whack a doodle in every bunch and in our case his name is Squash. At lest that's what I call him. It seems he's made it his personal quest to get himself a bird.
--Personally I’m routing for the birds, but we'll see who wins......

A PLACE TO REST....
--Sometimes it's the little things that make the day brighter. Like a bench to take a we bit of a rest on. Or a nice piece of shade on a hot day.
--Other times of course it's the big things that often pass us by because were to preoccupied with the day to day struggle of just getting by.
--Generally I try to keep a open mind as to the days events. Which at times is hard to do.
--But like everything with a bit of patience it can be accomplished. And the end result is a better day....

BUTTERFLIES ARE FREE.....
--With the warming temps it's nice to see the return of all the various forms of life. The birds, the bugs, and of course the butterflies.
--Heading out to the car one day to begin a trip out and about we were pleasantly surprised by a lone butterfly that landed on the hood of the car for a brief moment.
--My wife smiled and said ,“I guess summer is really here."
--of course the whole thing was one of those moments where a little thing turned into a unexpected blessing which is so often the case.....

WHY BOTHER....
--The other day while out and about I happened on a piece of paper blowing across the parking lot. It looked like it was part of a newspaper somebody had dropped.
--I bent down and picked the dang fool thing up and some guy passing by said,” Why bother.” He pointed to all the papers blowing across the parking lot.
--There sure were allot of them. While that one little piece probably didn't do much for the parking lot on a whole, it was ones less blowing around.
--I guess in this day and age the why bother attitude is pretty much ingrained. Because nobody was picking up anything.
--Sort of makes you wonder what would happen if everybody picked up one piece a paper or what not a day. Why in no time flat we might just be able to make a difference....

WHAT A DIFFERENCE.......
--Under a full moon in the darkness of night the world is cast in such a beautiful mysterious glow. When the sun comes up the glow is less apparent but still there if you look.
--Of course taking the time for such things sort of falls to the bottom of the list sadly to say.
--Perhaps what we need is a new list with a few simple reminders thrown in.
--Myself I try to keep a balance between what needs to be done, and what needs to be reinforced each day. It makes for better days, and keep the old brain pan fresh. Better able to handle the endless battle with those little bug a boos and their endless hoops were forced to jump through each day just to survive.....

WAITING FOR THE NEXT STEP....
--Waiting for the next step is kind of like going into hover mode and not realizing it.
--Some people would say that’s where a good plan comes in hand. Or at lest a general idea of where it is your going.
--Which is probably true. That’s why we usually make a general plan and check it constantly to make sure were heading in the right direction.
--While hover mode can be nice from time to time to catch your breath it’s not the greatest place to be stuck for to long....

THE FINE ART OF KEEPING IT SIMPLE....
--It never ceases to amaze me the amount of effort it takes to read things that seem to be written with the more words used the better it is format.
--It's not that I’m against using a few extra words if you've got something to say. But to fill a book with as many words as possible just to say you've reached a full word count. Seems kind of defeating to me.
--Usually you find this type of writing in technical books and good old tax books. Where when you boil it all down it sure would be allot simpler if they just cut the shenanigans and spit out what in Sam hill they were trying to say instead of rambling on.
--Of course with a little patience and a bottle of aspirin it is possible to decode the stuff. It just would be allot simpler if they made it a tad easier. But then I suppose they have to create a special department of keeping it simple and we all know where that would end....

SOME-DAYS..
--Some days it's get kind of hard to find a way to spin the whack a doodle ness of a downward spiral. But it can be done if you try to remember that what goes down must come up eventually.
--It's not much comfort but sometimes we need to take comfort where we can find it. Even if we have to grasp at straws to do it.
--Of course like all things if were patient and bide our time it usually works out in the end......

MUDDY WATERS....
--I don't mind the semi warming temps. The mud I could do without. But have learned to live it.
--Of course my wife gets a little annoyed when I start dancing with the mop and belt out a few verses of,” I could of danced all night." but over the years she's more or less just learned to block out my foolishness.
--It's not that I mind mopping, just not as much as the muddy season requires. But like everything it passes and then were on to spring. Which brings it's own little surprises. With plenty of hidden little blessings....

MORNING FLINCH MIX UP....
--Apparently morning flinch got a little mixed up He spent the whole day trying to get the dang fool cats attention by chattering in the picker bush next to the porch.
--Needless to say the cats were not impressed. They spent most of the time sleeping in the sun, and ignoring Him and His constant chattering.
--Sort of makes you wonder if there’s a lesson in there somewhere.....

SIMPLE EXCUSES....
--Excuses are easy to make, but after awhile they have a habit of coming back to take a bite out of you.
--Personally I try hard to stay away from the little darlings, but like everything in life they do have a certain appeal.
--Usually I try to get as much done while I’m able. And move the rest to the next days list. As far as excuses, I’ll own up to the fact I just didn't get to it.
--So far it works. But like everything it takes allot of patience and a willingness to accept the fallout for not getting to whatever the Sam hill you missed.....

WHISPERING WINDS....
--While I like a good breeze as much as the next fellow, when the wind gets to a certain point it makes life a bit uncomfortable.
--There’s not much you can do about it of course, except stay out of it while its blowing away.
--About the only two things that make it a little more bearable are a nice warm cup of coco, and a warm blanket or two. And of course a few DVD’s of some good old Hallmark movies make for a some what bearable night....

IF ONLY....
--Sometimes I wonder what happen if people used their heads before they started in on a self surveying rant. It's always amazed me over the years, how the need to make yourself feel better by crushing the feeling of others, takes precedent with some people. The power of a few misspoken words, can be a quite the wrecking ball.
--But like everything in life I guess a toughing of ones outer shell is a never-ending process. And they say only the best steel is produced with the hottest fires.
--Myself I think it's a shame, and do believe there is a better way of course. But like everything it takes time, and a whole lot of patience. Something which seems to be in such short supply these days it should be on a endangered list somewhere.
--Everyday I say a silent prayer for the victims of those wrecking ball words. I hope they find the strength to hang in there. Life is such a precious thing, with it's countless moments of unrestrained beauty to be enjoyed.....

MORNING FLINCH'S LITTLE FRIEND 'S....
--It really was not much of a surprise to find morning flinch chattering away in the bush next to the porch. What was surprising was He seemed to have brought a few friends with him this time.
--Not only was He chattering away but there were 3 little ones going crazy along side him this morning.
--Not wanting to waste a good morning howdy. I spent a few moments with the little darlings making sure they all got a good morning howdy in return.
--The episode reminded me how sometimes it's the little things that can turn a day around. That’s if were looking of course.....

FOOL ME ONCE.....
--I’m not quite sure how the saying goes, but I do feel a bit of we’ve been here before coming on. Hopefully this time the warm weather is here to stay.
--Of course just in case I'm keeping my cold weather gear close to hand. Because there’s nothing worse than running around looking for it when the dang fool weather decides to turn....

FRESH BAKED....
--Call me what you will, but fresh baked anything with a cup of coffee in the morning is like a little slice of heaven.
--At lest once a month my wife will get in the baking mood, and start baking away. The result is always a something special.
--Over the years she’s surprised us with many little delights, and even now manages to add a few more pages of surprises.
--Of course she usually laughs of my complements, and says that’s why I married her because she could cook. Which is partly the reason, but the main one was I fell in love with the little nut at first sight....
