--Walking through a store with a list is good, because it gives you a idea of what your looking for.
--Catching a glimpse of something on the bottom of the list while your looking at the top. Is good to, until you get to the bottom and can't seem to remember where in Sam hill you caught the glimpse.
--Then you get to play where in Sam hill did I see it. Which is a wee bit of a pain in the neck.
--But like everything with patience usually you find it. Of course it does require going over the same bit of ground over and over again....

SPECIAL DAYS….
--I suppose a day set aside to remind us to says thanks to the ones we gave our hearts to is a good thing. Myself I usually say I love you at lest once a day to the love of my life.
--But I can see where waving a red flag and having a day for such things is good. Sometimes we get caught up in the hustle and bustle of daily life and forget some of the niceties.
--Just like Mothers day, Fathers day, Grandparents day, and all the other days thrown in there it's good to be reminded from time to time.
--Of course it would save a little time if people just said things everyday and didn't have to be reminded. With all the big waving flags. But I guess that was the point in creating the day in the first place. To remind people….

TRYING TO BE CONSTRUCTIVE....
--Sometimes its hard to be constructive when it seems the dang fool world gone in terminal tilt mode. And no amount of roiling hip shots seems to set the dang fool game right again.
--On days like that it makes it hard to even crack a smile. Or even think a cheerful thought or two.
--But like everything else its usually a matter of perception. And yeah the dang fool world probably has gone into permanent tilt mode it seems. But I know if I have any chance at all I better concentrate on my little piece of it. Or I’m going to be sucked into the whole whorl of discontent right quick.
--So even though it’s hard I paint a smile on my face, and buckle down the hatches. I start counting blessings and keep counting until the thing’s I’m grateful for are at the forefront of my mind. Leaving all the whispering little gremlins without a toe hold, cast adrift in a frosty sea filled with blessing’s.
--It makes for a good day in spite of everything, and that’s all that matters in my book.....

TRYING TO FIND A REASON....
--Trying to find a reason for all the arm waving, finger pointing, and angry whispers. Is like trying to find a four leaf clover in a field of green, probably possible if Your really patient but it sure as Sam hill going to take awhile.
--Usually some where in the mix is a creeping fear of change what ever it may be. And most of the problem seems to stem for the over powering need to maintain a even keel.
--I gave up fighting change, it's to dang hard. And just allot of wasted energy. When it's all said and done it's going to happen any ways whether I’m on board or not.
--Now I mostly just try to keep my head on the prize, and leave all the rest for the universe to figure out. Some days it works and some days not so much. One thing I do know is no amount of arm waving, finger pointing and anger whispers is going to help so I leave that for those who are better able.
--In the end it's really how you look at things that matter the most. And as long as you keep our eye on the prize you really should be ok....

THE TROUBLE WITH DIRECTIONS....
--Sometimes no matter how simple the directions may seem, if you fail to grasp there meaning your bound to get lost.
--Myself I know from experience if I miss something along the way I usually end up chasing my tail more often than not.
--As a result I end up in muck and mire junction rather than where it was I was going.
--Now of course after many years, I’ve learned to pay attention before I set out. And have cut down on a few wrong turns.
--That’s not to say I don't get lost from time to time. But at lest I know the general direction I was heading in and can usually find my way to get back on track....

THE SWEAT SOUND OF SILENCE....
--While I don't mind a little ruckus in the morning, the sweat sound of silence in those first passing minutes of the day are a blessing to be cherished when they happen.
--Which in a house filled with whack a doodles is a bit hard. Because it seems besides living up to their names, they just can’t seem to grasp the fact that sometimes if their quiet for a few minutes things work a wee bit better.
--But like everything in life with patience, and a good pair of ear plugs. After seeing to every bodies needs you can find a few moments of silence where you can collect your thoughts.
--Its probably not the best of plans but it seems to work....

THE FINE ART OF BEING HONEST....
--The way I figure it being honest is allot easier than trying to keep track of those endless little lies.
--While I imagine there’s a time and a place for a white lie or two. Especially when the truth would hurt someone else needlessly. Even then the potential for things spinning out of control is there .
--When it comes to dealing with other people I pretty much try to stay honest.
--When we have a yard sale you won't find an broken thing’s sitting around waiting to be passed on to the next person. Which I wish could be said for some of the yard sales I’ve been to.
--And as far as dealing with everyday businesses I don't mind paying a fair price for whatever it is I’m looking for. Which seems to be a foreign concept at some places.
--I have never understood some of the shameless games some places play trying to get more jingle out of peoples pockets.
--But I guess that’s probably the point. Not trying to understand all the dang fool games just keeping your eyes open so those little extra bites are kept to a mere announce level....

THE MYSTERY OF LIFE....
--For all of our understanding of life, I suppose there are in fact a few mysteries still out there to explore. For some reason it seems keeping to the norm has become more important than looking for unexplored mysteries.
--While I don't mind myself, but it does make me wonder just where all the next great discoveries will come from . If everyone’s more concerned with being pc correct, and sticking hard and fast to what considered norm for the day.
--They say change must come in tiny steps, and demand we adhere to one code for certain things and another code for the rest. To do anything less would upset the apple cart.
--Sort of makes you wonder if the whole thing is more about not revealing where the bad apples are. Than removing them so the rotten ones don’t spoil the whole crop....

IT'S BEEN SUCH ALONG TIME....
--It seems no matter how you measure time if your not watching it has a habit of sneaking up on you.
--Getting caught up in all the day to day shenanigans, just trying to make it through. Before you quite realize it more time has passed and your wondering where it flew to.
--When you do pause for a bit, just to catch a breath or two. You slowly start to realize there’s a few things you forgot to do.
--You take out your trusty list and throw a few more things down. Vowing I’ll get to them for sure now. Having every intention of following through.
--But like everything your sure to miss a few.
--It seems something’s should wait a bit, and something’s there’s no reason to. Other than it's what you usually do.
--Maybe what really needs to happen is you need to rearrange a few things. Taking care of the things that matter. Before time catches up to you....

MOPPING UP THE CRUMBS....
--It always amazes me that a simple act when left unattended can create such a problem you needed bigger tools to clean up the dang fool mess.
--Sort of makes you wonder what would happen if the simple things were taken care of when they were simple. And not left until you need a full crew and a has-mat team to solve them.
--But like everything I suppose its just a matter of time. And whether or not people want to do what needs to be done before walking away, patting themselves on the back about a job well done. Leaving the little crumbs for the next fellow who happens along to clean up.
--But like everything I guess with a wee bit of working together, it is possible to do a bit of back patting. and get the dang fool crumbs cleaned up to boot.
--Now all I have to do of course is convince my little darlings of that fact.....

SMILES AND GIGGLES....
--Smiles and giggles go further to start the day, than frowns and looking down in the dumps.
--Of course it's not always possible to wake-up with a Pollyanna smile painted on your face. But the first few moments of the day should be enough for one to creep across the old brain pan.
--Besides chasing sleep away it goes quite a ways, to opening our eyes to the days potential.
--Usually in the course of a day I find smiles and giggles a welcome comfort. And will spend time visiting with both the little darlings. Not only are they a welcome relief to the constant spin of this old whack s doodle world we seem to be living in these days. But they also provide just the right amount of inspiration to keep life in prospective....
SLEEPY EYED DOG WALKER....
--I’ll say one thing about taking dogs out to do their business in the wee hours of the morning. It sure makes for a quick wake-up.
--There's something about that early morning air that perks you right up.
--Of course the dogs are not to crazy about going out ever two hours. But it does cut down on the Shenanigans so it's a two for in my book.
--And the up side is after a brisk trip outside in the frosty air, sleep comes a little easier. So that's always a plus....

POSTCARD PERFECT MORNING....
--Even though the cold usually throws my day into a constant whorl. And the teetering temps bring about their own list of troubles. I will say it sure is pretty to look at.
--Of course voicing such options has brought about allot of dirty looks over the years. Especially when trying to clear a 75ft driveway with a dang fool snow shovel. Or dig out from a snow bank while trying to keep the unfrozen side of our face out of the wind.
--But despite all that I do have to admit it does make for a pretty picture. With the snow covered branches, and the wind swept paintings across the yard. Not to mention the few pieces of grass or weeds sticking through the piles of snow. Refusing to lie down despite the battering they’ve taken during the night.
--Yeah I know only a pink hat wearing old fool would find any of that pretty. As he grabs his cane and heads out to try and figure out how to clear a 75ft driveway and not end up on his butt.....

THE CHILLY MORNING SHUFFLE....
--While I’m not to fond of a chill morning, I will say they can be quite pretty in there own chilly way. And that I do have a fondness for.
--Those morning's with their fresh little peek a boo games under foot are some of my most favorite. Like the cloud with sun peeking through ever once in awhile, or the frosty mornings with the bright cloudless skies.
--They are one in all part of the endless arrays of mornings that mother nature provides each day.
--Even those mornings when she has a tendency to really mix it up, provide quite a few blessing if you take a few moments to check it out.....

STAYING ON THE GOOD SIDE....
--Some day’s trying to stay on the good side of a bunch of whack a doodle personalities, is like walking through a minefield blindfolded while jugging chainsaws. You might make it or you might make a mess of things.
--Usually I spend most of my time stumbling from one disaster to another. It makes the day interesting to say the lest.
--Of course if people would realize there's more to life than chicken little mode. Things would go allot easier. But apparently the only time they really think is when they calm down a tad. And stop reacting to every little thing as if it was the end of the world and the start of a zombie invasion.
--Myself it's taken a while but I’ve come to the conclusion time and time again that there’s more to life than running around chasing your tail.
--The time you save can be put to better use in allot of other places....

MORNING FLINCH....
--How such a little fellow can make such a racket is beyond me. But there he was sitting in the bush next to the porch just a chirping away.
--I guess he was happy the dang fool wind died down a bit. And the temp decided to crawl up to the backside of 50 so far.
--The cats who hang around the house were paying the little fellow no mind of course.
--Myself I found it to be a welcome relief to the usual wing nut routine I usually have to navigate through.
--I guess blessings are like that they come in all shapes and sizes. And are quite the mental recharge when they appear.....

MOVING THROUGH THE DIFFERENT STAGES....
--Some days just moving is hard, but luckily I’ve divided the day into different stages. Which doesn't make it any easier to move, but at least it sort of gives me a few goals to strive for during the day.
--Of course when I concentrate on the dang fool stages, and not the difficultly of being able to move. I often find the day moves along at a reasonable pace. And most of the stages can be reached.
--Since I’ve more or less stumbled into this way of thinking I find more good days can be had. Despite the difficultly of being able to move about.
--I guess it just goes to show maybe it is possible to get some where taking things a little slower....

ONE STEP FORWARD TWO STEPS BACK....
--While I’m the first to admit, the whole one step forward two steps backwards is a pain in the neck. It's also a big part of life, and as such has to be taken into account when making any types of plans. Especially when dealing with the whack a doodle factor.
--Like good old Murphy and His unwritten law, usually it lay’s the framework of any endeavor.
--Over time of course it is possible to tip the scales to a positive outcome. It just requires a ton of patience and consistency.
--But like I said it sure as Sam hill can be a pain in the neck. That’s why I usually measure success in small victories. And try to keep my eye on the prize and not get to distracted by the setbacks.
--It's not the best plan, but under the circumstances it's about all you can hope for when dealing with whack a doodles I guess....

POCKET LITTER....
--Usually the hardest part of doing laundry is going through all the dang fool pockets. But the other side is finding the pocket litter spread through a whole load of laundry. And having to rewash until your blue in the face.
--Myself I’ve learned the hard way and now will make sure and check. It's a pain in the neck but will pay for itself in the end.
--I guess that’s can be said about allot of life in general. Sometimes skipping steps can save time but sooner or later your bound to end up paying for it in the end.
--Sort of makes you wonder if it's really worth all the rushing about just to save a couple of extra minutes. When you can get there just by following at a even pace, and kind of enjoy the ride along the way....

FUNNY OLD MEMORIES....
--For a fellow who isn't to fond of cold weather, it seems I’ve spent a good portion of my dang fool life learning how to get along with it.
--In one way or another it sure does seem funny the amount of things you remember. When your hovering around a heater trying to un-thaw.
--My children of course listen with rolling eyes when I tell them about a few of the winter adventures.
--But I will say one thing when they go outside they dress accordingly. So I guess that’s what really matters in the long run….

OLD BIRDS....
--While feeding the cats who hang around out house the other day I happen to notice a Hawk sitting on the phone wire that runs in front of our house. He seemed to be having a staring contest with a owl who was sitting in a tree in our front yard.
--I didn't think much of it until I went out a couple hours later and noticed not only were they still at it but they seemed to have attracted a audience. A crow was watching them stare at each other, and a squirrel was watching from another tree.
--I guess anything out of the norm if left alone lone enough is bound to attract a audience.
--Sort of makes you wonder if there's a lesson in there some place....
